I'm almost 16 and recently got a black 91' nx 2000. its my first car other than an old toyota pickup. I have alot of freinds who have various types of cars and like to talk about all the stuff they've added or upgraded on their cars. and go around showboatin their rides... i cant wait when i go ridin around with the t tops off and pulling away from them off the lights. but anyways, i am planning on keepin the nx for awhile and putting some money into it.

congrats on the ride! i was first driving my step-fathers tempo to school and work for a while until i saved up my cash... now im 17, 18 in dec and have a white 92! not bad for my first car! hehehe... it litteraly "paid off" to save my money for a long time!

cool, i think the white looks best on the nx's but i couldnt argue on the price, i payed 1100 for mine which wasnt running. come to find that a cam was locked up in the thing it rolls in, only because someone didnt put the caps in the right spots...

well mine looks exactly like any other black nx, nothing special... but you did a nice job under the hood in yours. mine has a couple more scratches on the paint but a good interior..

Im 17 and I just got my first car 91 NX1600 a few months ago.
I know how it feels, its a great little car and definatly has some power.
Anyway good luck with it and im sure you will have it looking great when your done with it.

WOW thats a great price! How many Miles/Kilometers does it have on it?

I paid 6000 CDN for mine but thats cause it was in really good shape and only has 130000km or 78000Miles and only 1 owner (the first owner actually took it back to sell to the origional dealer too)

PS. The first thing I would do to it is a tune up. Basically Air/Oil/Fuel FIlters, Oil (I use a semi synthetic), Plugs (I recomend Bosch +4s, they are expensive but believe me they are worth it)

But anyway thats up to you =)

Oh one last thing. If you wanna tell me, it would be nice to know how much you paid for insurance. Cause its killer up here in BC Canada. With collision added on, mine was 2400 CDN (over 1/3 of the cars price!) Just wondering if young drivers get slammed like that in the states.

yea the insurance companies get us pretty bad. especially if you get in an accident or get a ticket. but i havent so its not that bad.

and my car has 178,000 miles. but head has been worked.

hell yeah i got my nx2000 for 2000, only had 110,000 miles on it when i bought it, plus, it is a 93, which had all the options in it, talk about a needle in a haystack, no engine problems or interior or exterior except for my front end valence which was broke but no biggy thats what body kits are for right

I bought my 92 nx a year ago this past july and I love it. 3200 dollars with 63k on it. Just wait, the modding bug is going to hit you up good. Start off with tune-up stuff, plugs, wires, cap/rotor, reground the maf, clean your throttle body and you will be good to go. Also, hook up a timing light and advance the timing to 17 degrees. Then, for your first mod i suggest you hook up a cold air intake. If you have any questions, www.se-r.net is packed full of info. You could also use the search function on the forum here, which has very helpful stuff as well. Good luck with your car.

Yeha, congrats on your newfound NX. i wish i new what an NX2000 was to buy when i was 16. I didnt know thery existed until after i got on this forum, which was obviously after i bought my 200sx se-r. i like nx sooooooooooo much more though. great cars.

Gratz Bro! your gonna love the car its so much fun to drive, Got mine when i was 16 and 1/2 i drove my dads sundance before that to school ::shudders:: ugh!, then he tried to make me buy a cavilier and older 1, then mom's friend was selling the passat vr6 91' as well, but i saw the egg down the road, made my dad look at it, he test drove it was like "You're buying it" then i did a little dance because my dad talked him down to 2250 which came right out of my pocket, =), rebuilt the motor, didnt need it but hell y not,(dad wouldnt let me get a det, hes a jerk sometimes), car runs great, u'll smoke tons of people, shave the nx and people get real confused as to what it is cause its rare, then u can reall have fun when people think its some slow little hatch, and i laugh cause those civic si's didnt even see it coming =). anyway heres mine redid the interior too, had a tear in the drivers seat,I'm 18 now and keepin the NX riding strong. You'll become attached real quick, take care of the egg they are a rare breed =)

I got myself the NX about 4 months ago, I'm 19 and it is my second car.. Tis so unbelievably different from the old Ford I use to drive, we named it Sherman because it somewhat resembled a Sherman Tank..

Anyway my NX is a 94.. I think in the grand ol US of A they were only made til 93?? but here in Australia the NX and NX-R (the one with the fog lamps, Cruise Control & ABS) was made up until 95

Tis Dark Gray and the only thing I have been able to afford so far is a JVC MP3.. dunno US prices or miles(?!?) either but i paid $10,000 which is a very decent price here and it only had 99,000km on it..

Anyway my tax return comes in soon so I will be purchasing some decent wheels and the rest of my stereo...
