Hey Guys,
Looks like I will be heading overseas again for a new job. I will be gone for a year and I don't want to sell my classic. So I was wondering how I need to prep the car for long term storage. ie. fluids, battery, tires, etc. Anyone who has experience in this and can offer practical tips and suggestions let me know. BTW, most likely, the car will sit outside covered.
TIA,

It might be a good idea to put the car up on blocks, so you don't dry rot the tires out if they get low on air. Try to leave something under the control arms to keep the struts sitting like they would if the car's weight were on it so they don't get leaky or anything.
Invest in a good cover so it won't ruin the paint, disconnect the battery to keep it from discharging too fast, or maybe just take it out of the car and let it sit in your house on top of a block of wood or something.
Just my $0.02. :)

Please take this "hooligan" off the the forum (jomama)! Not only does he bug me, he is a stalker, and has delusions of me giving him my car.

What I did with my NX when I stored it for 8 months was to:
1. Pull all the plug, & replace them with the dessicant crystals.
2. Get a good engine "store" treatment, or auto tranny fluid...it works
3. Put the car on stands w/no rims or tires.
4. Let the air out of the tires, and use a tire treatment, Armorall, put the rims/tires in the car
5. Put a load on the suspension. You don't need much
6. Use some "Stabil" gas treatment
7. Pack a few bags of dessicant crystals (5-10lb bags) in your interior & engine bay
8. Wax, wax, wax & wax again...
All the above items can be found at storage centers, Griots Garage, & www.eastwoodco.com (where I got mine)
