Ok, im looking for others opinions and personal experiences. I recently got a hotshot gen 5. I also found that pacesetter has there headers back in stock, about 40 of them i believe. Now, my question is.....should i sell the hotshot and just buy a pacesetter, or should i keep the hotshot instead. My best friend nismoser just bought a pacesetter and we compared the two side by side last night, and in all honesty, they look very similar. The secondary on the pacesetter even looks bigger then the hotshot. Granted, theres no comparison in build quality and looks, but im not looking to win a medal for how pretty my header is. let me know what you guys think....thanks in advance...John.

You guys take any pictures of the two side by side?

Does it appear that PS might have updated their SR20DE header design in any way?

Considering the difference in price and the possibility of having an extra $200 or so laying around for other mods, I would have to say, sell the HS, buy the PS and use the other $200+ for other mods.

Keep the hotshot gen 5! :) Sometimes bigger isn't always better.

I have pics I will post later tonight. I left the disks at home, so I'll have to upload them via my slodem.

The primaries on the hotshot look marginally larger, perhaps due to the thicker guage metal, but they are rounder whereas the pacesetter is more oval like the exhaust ports themselves.

Also, where the primaries on the PS enter the flange, they are only tack welded on one side, and the side of the flange that sits on the block is not as flush as I'd like. Nothing that a few minutes with an angle grinder and welder couldn't fix though. But the Hotshot is all sorts of pretty.

The PS still uses the ball-socket downpipe, but the bends and length are exactly the same as the Hotshot. In fact, even the flange is angled the same with the same holes that they are interchangeable. Imagine that.

On the PS, after the 2 pipes go to 1, it is bigger in diameter than the Hotshot, by about 1/4 inch.

I will trade you a pacesetter for your hotshot....just let me order the pacesetter real quick. ;)

I would keep the Hotshot. It will probably last longer.

i HAD THE SAME QUESTION COME UP WHEN I BROUGHT MY HEADERS. i KNEW THAT DOWN THE ROAD I WAS GOING TO TURBO MY SE-R BUT AT THE TIME I DID NOT HAVE THE CASH FOR THAT AND STILL WANTED MY CAR TO PERFORM BETTER TILL THEN.. i WENT WITH THE PS HEADER AND I CAN'T COMPLAIN MUCH ABOUT IT TO TELL THE TRUTH... SO ANY WAY IF YOU ARE IN THE SITUATION I WAS IN GET THE PS INSTEAD OF THE HOT SHOT... THERE IS NO REASON TO SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY IF YOUR GOING TO PULL THE PART OFF EVENTUALLY.

YES IT IS PRETTY LOUD BUT BETWEEN THE INTAKE AND EXHAUST I HAVE YOU CAN'T TELL AS MUCH.

like i said, i wasnt making fun of you, i was just informing u (TRYING TO HELP U OUT) so that u might not get hassled in the future about it seeing as u are new to this forum. and just because i use lower case letters (JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE ON THIS FORUM DOES) doesnt mean i'm "WIENY" whatever that is supposed mean, because last time i checked WIENY isn't a word.
