Just ordered a DET for my 92 classic, I ve gathered alot of info on parts, etc... that I will need for the swap. I am just really concerned about getting an ECU. Seems that JWT is so back logged it would be christmas before I got it done there. Can anyone help? I have emailed Luis and Andreas, (SO IF EITHER OF YOU READ THIS POST, PLEASE pm or email me), I hear that you two might be a little faster than JW. All recommendations or suggestions are completely wanted/needed.

Thanks

I'm running my DE ecu with minimal problems(poor fuel economy, rough idle, occasional stalling) until I get my E-manage next week. Have been running it this way for 2 months.

if you arre ordering you det.. ask for a det computer. i ran on this computer for a long time and it works beautiful. the only thing is that you have 115mph speed limit on it. but im just saying try using that till you decide what to get.(jwt, or e-manage). if you paying bucks for a det i suggest you ask for the computer. i payed less than 1500 for mine and i got EVERYTHING, even parts of the car. you can run on the se-r "64" computer, but it will run like shit and be incredably lean.

Alrdy got the motor, no ecu you though. Got in touch with Andreas, my ecu worries are over. I guess if I have to run my stock de ecu since Loe is having minimal problems. I figured it wouldnt work at all, but that info is great. But I am definitely getting the JWT ECU. Probably be another month or so before its up and running. STill purchasing other parts that I need.

Thanks

Don't forget, LOE LYF is running the stock computer with 370's, not 259's

Yes, you can run the stock 91-93 SE-R ECU.

No, it won't run like shit, maybe not as good as a DET ECU but it will run decent.

YOU WILL NOT RUN LEAN YOU WILL RUN RICH (SAFER).
You have to understand how injectors work, then you would have known by putting bigger injector 370cc on a computer designed for 259cc will spray more fuel in parts of the RPM range (powerband) unnesicarly because it thinks theres 259cc in the rail effecting idle and part throttle accordingly.

Larger Fuel Injectors 370cc will make it possible to run a DET. But you cant just put in bigger injectors with out some way to control them, you would just run rich all the time. The ECU will still trigger the bigger injectors as if they were still stock (259cc). Each time they open however, more fuel will flow out (370cc)+/-. The car would be slower. A fuel controller like the Apexi SAFC will trick the ECU into thinking that there is less air flow. It will then trigger the bigger injectors less and even things out at idle and any were else you want. Since the ECU does not see all of the actual air flow, you wont hit the fuel cut off and you'll get better ignition timing advance.

The drawback to running largers injectors on a stock ECU (259cc) is that you will more than likely need some form of fuel computer (Apexi SAFC) to be able to properly adjust them. Installing (370cc) injectors increases fuel supply across the board since more fuel is injected per pulse.

And you don't particularly need more fuel at idle or part throttle and may not necessarily need all of the extra fuel under boost, so you will want some form of control to adjust the injectors at various RPMs and/or load levels. Just remember, large injectors and fuel computers go hand in hand.

This is why the SAFC is such a good computer to have.

And where do I get this computer?
