i drive a Bluebirdd sss N/A and the inside cv boot on the drivers side is torn...reading some of the past post is kinda confusing me

....the long CV on my car is on the right side of the car, is this the same on the SE-R's ?....to take the long CV out there are 3 bolts (mid axle)on the axle as well as one connecting to the engine block/trans which is connected to the same piece of metal that the other three bolts are connected to, do i need to take off the three bolts, or just the one that is connected to the block in order to pull out the CV...?

is there anyway i could just pull out the outer half of the CV to get to the inner boot?

in order to take out the three-four bolts, it looks like I'm going to have to drop the exhaust to get to them, i can get a socket on them, but there isnt going to be any room to turn the socket if i dont drop it...

so is this the same as the SE-R's......uhhhh headache...

you might want to check your motor/tq mounts, almost every inside boot thats torn on a cv axle is from motor/tq mounts, whne the mounts go bad the motor flexes back sometimes touching the boots and ripping them..I've seen many people go through about 3 inside cv boots in less than 2 days because they didnt think to look/change the mounts.. gl.

ive never done one on an se-r but i have done them on other nissans.. if i remember correctly you have to pull out those three bolts and the whole shaft is one piece.. I've done so many cv's on so many different cars its hard to remember exactly which was which.. im almost sure that the long axle is one piece though.. I think on toyotas you can remove just the outer but i believe you must remove the whole thing on nissans.. gl hope this helps
