Hey,
Besides being adjustable how much of a difference is there between the two? Would the GR-2s be able to handle the drop if using H&R springs? THanks

The gr-2 will work fine. Do you really think you will be adjusting your shock and strut levels. I don't think you need the agx unless you are autocrossing... I think the gr-2 will do the job and give you great performance.

You probably want to stick with AGX's. That is the general consensus around here unless you go with shortened struts. When you use lowering springs, especially ones like Eibach's, H&R, Sprint, etc etc, you pretty much cut your suspension travel in half, and will end up bottoming out a lot because the springs' rates are not firm enough.

With the AGX's, you can at least set them stiff enough to offset the low spring rates to an extent.

Is the bottoming out problem just with the older se-r's or do the b14 chassis ones have that problem as well..

that is true in most cases. Fast91SER is using eibachs with the GR2s and he likes them, and I was personally very impressed with the quality of the ride and the handling compared to my stock gxe.

Also. the case about the spring rates is normally correct, but in my case, I am about to receive a set of progress springs which the spring rates are a bit stiffer than stock, and I don't expect to bottom out too much.

I do use Eibachs and GR-2s, but that is because I couldn't afford any better. Besides, the GR-2's were gifts from friends and family. :D

I like the ride for everyday driving, but if i was to use this on an autocross or roadcourse, I'd probably be very upset. Unless the turns are smooth, the suspension, and as a result, the line you try to take becomes very hard to follow.

Yeah, but he also lives in Florida. Not much work to the suspension like on N/E roads.

lol true, but the quality of roads in a lot of parts of FL is well below par.........even for the northeast..............trust me.........I've done a lot of driving up there and down here =)

either way......if its a money issue, get the GR2s or save up for the AGXs. unfortunately for me, they don't make either for my car yet. I am going to want some AGXs after I get my drop too =(

I drove the GR-2 with stock, H&R and susp. tech springs and they worked great. I now have the AGX and I must say that the only reason i went with them was for autox. I was very impressed with the GR-2 even after having tokico blues and some ass monroe sensa crap shocks.

Hey the Gr2s have been good to me too. Nice firm ride, but still lowered with the ST springs. Handles pretty well.

I had them with stock springs on my SE-R. The car never road very well. It seemed to be mismatched. Stock springs where to soft.

Now with the AGX and Hypercoils on my NX it feels balanced. It does ground out once in a while but only on big bumps. And I like being able to adjust the dampening. Currently running 4 front 2 rear. The front struts where used and off a b14 so I had to crank it up to max.

Back to the GR2's. I think with a mild spring and very slight drop the combination would be fine. Stock springs or high rate wouldn't be that great. JMO

Got nothing bad to say about GR2s. I've had them for almost 7 years on my Eclipse. I won a state autocross title with them. Beat a future Prosolo champ in the process.

No autocross in your future? Probably not worth the extra $$$ for the adjustability then. BTW, stiffening the AGXs really doesn't do anything to keep them from bottoming if you're too low.

I'm thinking of getting the GR-2s with H7R springs as opposed to the AGXs.

1) budget wise ($389 for AGX from p-s-t.com) vs. ($200 for GR-2 from tirerack.com)
2) any other MAJOR differences between the two? I don't play on autocrossing. This is my daily driver. I want to get rid of the damn b14 wheel gap most of all!!

I have GR2's with intrax springs, i have a
feeling the G's are dead, the ride quality sucks,
it's a good thing i dont have any fillings. Or it
could be the 17" konigs i have, anyways go with
the GR2's.

LOL!! I give myself props for searching. I was going to start the very same thread!!

Anyways - I plan on 'DRAG RACING' as well. I have a tight budget so I want the GR-2s.
