I live in Florida, these types of devices are legal to use in this state.

What do you guys use? What do you recommend, and why?

All detectors are legal in FL; jammers are illegal just like in every other state.

There is only one radar/laser detector worth paying for: The Valentine One

It is $400, but it is worth every last cent. It's not even fair to the pigs when you use the V1.

I have a Escort Passport 9500i...go check out the website.
Has gps to lockout false alarms, and heads up speed display.
I have owned a Valentine.
V1 is old technology, and will annoy you with false alarms. They are too sensitive in my opinion.

400 bills huh. Man. I have heard similar things to what you stated, I also have hear the software that they are equipped with is upgradeable. If so have you done this? And what would you say the approximate range for you has been. I don't trust the manufacturers websites on most electronics. They lie.

Sounds sweet! What'd you pay for it?

^^^^^ I'll pm you a price in a few min...... but yes you should go and check them out... I recommend looking at Radardetectortest.com there you will be able to see the pro's and con's of radar detectors... they compair all the good one's and yes the bad one's......... but atleast you can make a rational decision instead of going by what everyone else says. because we all know everyone has a different opinion no matter what you say... LOL thats what makes this world rotate.........

I bought my 9500i the first week it was available,so it was like 500 with a second hardwire/mute button, and shipping.
Worth every penny,it has paid for itself multiple times.

V1's are upgradeable. Send in your old unit, and they upgrade it for a much smaller fee. Arrows are only on the V1 b/c they patented it. I had a Uniden GPSLRD before it bot stolen, and the satellite location of false alarms was nice, but they are not sensitive enough. The V1 has many modes to make it less sensitive, but for highway speeding you need every edge you can get. My V1 has saved me when the Uniden could never have. BTW, the V1 is FULLY programmable; for example, mine does not ever go off for X-band.

5 Bills huh. I've read up on it a bit. I haven't heard anything bad about it so far.

The concept of the arrows, I like alot. Knowing where the fire is coming from is constructed of bad@$$ery.
