ok, i have a b13 with sr20det, when i drive it , at 3500rpm the car starts bogging and doesn't want to go,the rpm won't even go, it just studder and i just let go of the petal, what can the problem be, i though it was misfiring so i switch the spark plug to cooler one and gap them to .35, im also running a JWT ecu, or maybe my car has a boost leak, any ideals?

I think a lot of people run there gap at .28 when turbo maybe try that.

fuel cut maybe?Fuel cut. Seriously? Are you suggesting he's running out of fuel at 3,500 rpm? Listen, it's not your job to reply to everyone's questions, especially when you don't know the answer.

Because if it's 2,500 then your ecu isn't seeing the maf.

Does it make boost? You need to do a boost leak check.

Is this a new setup? Has it run properly before? Give us some more info.

I just read some of your previous posts. So this is a new install. A few questions: Are the injectors and maf matched to the ECU? If you bought the ECU used, have you verified that the chip inside the box matches what's written on the sticker? If not, open it up, call JWT, and read them the digits off the eprom. They'll tell you exactly what that chip is programmed for.

Since this is a new install, you DEFINITELY need to do a boost leak test. I don't care how carefully you put the intercooler setup together, there's no way to visually verify its' integrity. Always, always, always do a boost leak test on a new install. Pretty much any time I touch the boost tubes, I'll pressure test it to make sure everything's ok.

well first off, he asked a question if i am correct anyone has the right to answer, i am just making a suggestion, have ppl not had clogged injectors or things wrong with anyhting in their fuel sysytem that hasn't shown up until turboing? throwing things out there can help, and im sorry if im not a turbo guru or havent wasted my most of my life to diagnose every little hiccup on a car.all i was doing was throwing out an idea, who know it could very well be the problem, not that it couldnt be the problem because it is at a low rpm. stupid things happen with cars, we all know this. but anyway im done posting "rediculous" answers to questions and im pretty much done posting any answers to anyones problems at that because i have no knowledge whatsover of anything to do with cars, just questions for now on, dont worry chris, u dont have to worry about me anymore!

It couldnt very well be the problem. Even I can see your just posting the first thing that comes to mind. All that will do is get him to go chasing after things that are not the problem. I agree with Chriscar. I had the same problem and it turned out to be two things. A wrong MAF program and also a few small boost leaks.

i had the same problem in my last project (eclipse gs+t) and it was a fuel cut.

There's no such thing as fuel cut on a B13. Running OUT of fuel due to injectors which are too small to support your turbo, yes, but the ecu will not cut the fuel like on a VW or DSM because of an out of the ordinary reading.

The OP needs to check the things I suggested. More than likely he'll find a boost leak.

well i was making a reference to what i have seen on dsm's, my bad, rly(could have just handled this through pm's in stead of shooting me down for everyone to see)Unless you have specific knowledge about a problem, you shouldn't post an answer, simple as that. Otherwise it's the blind leading the blind.

Until you've spent time building and troubleshooting a few turbo B13's, you shouldn't be answering questions about them. This isn't the first time you've posted incorrect information. I understand you're all gung-ho but you're not doing anyone any favors by giving misinformation.

I've been fiddling with these cars since 1992, and there are plenty of things I don't know about them. If someone posts a question that I have no clue about, I don't post some shotgun answer which could cause them to go down the wrong path.

I've seen the car personally. You have a issue with boost leak. I pointed out a few problems that you had on your setup. Best thing to do is clean up the engine bay so it doesn't look like a "rats" nest so It'll be easier to find the problem. If you need help, i'm available this weekend.

ok, the car ran pefect when i finish putting the turbo on, i bought the ecu from Nos91, and he said its a JWT ecu program for 370cc,and stock maf.....the car ran good, boosting at stock 6 psi, did a valculm check and it was good, just havent done a boost leak check. but then today, the car started to act weird, at 3500rpm, not 2500rpm, the car feels like it doesn't want to go higher rpm....

What have you done since your last post? Nos91 said he saw the car and it has a boost leak.

ok i did a boost leak and i fixed it, i changed to cooler plugs and gap at .30, i also checked the timming, running at 6psi, i think i'm running rich cause the plugs i change was very black at the tip....

So how's it running now? What did you use to do the boost leak test, and what did you find?

The plugs may be black from when you had the boost leak. What plugs are you running? NGK BKR7E's work well for most people with boosted SR20's.
