I’m re-tooling my 93’ NX2000
I drove it all through grad school; it’s in almost new condition (104000 miles)
I’m starting with suspension, the engine’s next. The interior’s near perfect, the paint’s original, but in good condition (it’s a California car)
This is the plan so far:
Energy Suspension Master Bushing Set
Steering Rack Bushing Set
Motor Mount Inserts
KYB AGX Shocks
Frt/Rr Sway Bars
Borbet Type S 16x7.5 wheels
Yokohama’s Parada Spec-2’s
Eibach Pro-Kit
Ideas would really be appreciated!
Any hints?

Sounds like a good plan. I would probably ditch the ES Steering Rack bushings. The few people I know who've upgraded to it felt no difference in steering feel.
Also, I would probably leave the front sway bar stock and upgrade the rear sway bar. The stock sway bars in our cars are mighty thick as is, and going thicker will more than likely induce more understeer.
For tires, I don't know how the Yoko Parada Spec 2's perform, but I've heard nothing but bad reviews for the original Parada's. I'm assuming you're looking for either a 205/45-16 or a 215/40-16. As an alternative, you can try the Yoko A520 or Pirelli P7000 (non-Super Sports). Again, that's based on my lousy assumption that the Parada Spec 2's are no better than the original Parada's.
[edit: I notice that you are from Santa Cruz. I live in San Jose. There's another NX owner out there by the name of Paul Chavez. His screen name on this forum is Scarpa.]

Ok I am totally confused...
TireRack recommends 205/40 16 as an upgrade but I've seen at least 2 people rolling 205/45 16... and another suggested 215/40 16
So which is right???
will all fit?
If so which will have the smallest sidewall
BTW
i know i know... why not 17"
i just think they look funky on such a little car... IMHO

if you want the lowest profile tire out of those 2 sizes go with the 215/40.
the smaller the second number (40) the lower the profile will be.
the first number (215) is how wide the tread will be.

Good luck, I plan on doing the same. These cars are awesome for the track, I think stock they pull a .92 G. My friend has an automatic and his is fast, they are very cool lookin cars and VERY original.

205/40/16 is the proper size if you want your speedometer to stay accurate. With this, you get a lousy ride and no protection for your rims. It is the smallest sidewall out of the three tire sizes that were aforementioned. I had this size but upgraded to a 205/45/16. the ride is nicer and you have a better choice of tires. The speedo is 4% off but its managable. You lose a little bottom end but gain the lost power up top.
