Hi all. Been a while since I last posted here on the forums! infact its all changed alot since I was last on.
To cut to the chase.... about the car.
Its a 1991 Nissan Silvia S13.
When I bought it the things that had been done (rather messily to be honest)
Lightened Flywheel
Heavy Duty Clutch
D2 adjustable front suspension and camber mounts
Rear lowered with compressed stock springs
pod filter
alloys 15"
volt guage
The start of my troubles.
Well I loved the shape of the silvia so to me it was my dream car. and the engine!!! got to love the SR20. Non turbo but nothing for me to worry about. first RWD car I owned so I had to learn to adapt to the way things run :D
First problem. After about 2 days the car was left idling while i took some pics. then the doors wouldnt open... not locked, just wouldnt open. so i had to smash a window because there was no way i was leaving it idling with the keys in it while i ran for help...
next the starter motor crapped out so had to be rebuilt.
Green stickered for no cert for adjustys so a set of Tein S-tech lowering springs and new front struts went in.
green stickered for three smooth tyres so new set of tyres all round
wofs were failed for random little bits and pieces, and a couple of major ones. There was the chassis part missing.... which turned out to be stock standard as when they first came out the exhaust was guided through that location to run out the side for racing.
finally after i got my wof I painted the car Matt Black :D:D
Now im finding that either all the syncros in the gear box have gone (not just one or two of them i mean all of them), theres no gearbox oil or lack of... oooor the heavy duty clutch is slipping.
I have had no end of trouble with this vehicle but I love her so much I just cant bring myself to sell her!!!!
Rambling aside here are a list of things to do:D
I have an image in my mind that instead of dropping in the SR20DET like everyone else does, I might just be a little different and do an N/A work up of the SR20.
full recon of the engine and gearbox
alot of new parts
a professional paint job might come into it somewhere :D
coilovers all round (WITH CERT:D)
18" DTM Drift wheels (possibly go for the stretched on tyre look too)
Still undecided on a bodykit as yet. I havent had much luck so far with them :D
interior mods will just be simple.
Reclinable buckets
guages for all the good flashy looks
steering wheel
E brake button
sound sytem is already in but possibly upgrade :D
currently running a sony xplod headunit with 2 infinity 6X9s and 2 Pioneer 6" Sony xplod 600w 4 ch amp powering 2 10" boschmann subwoofers
After my latest change in occupation I have found myself part of the Royal New Zealand Navy and earning far too much coin for me not to spend most of it on the essentials. Being my car that is!!!
Any thoughts or suggestions as to what mods I can go with would be much appreciated. Also comments welcome!
