So what happened to all the threads in this section......yet no other section seems to be affected????? Was there a purpose for this????

I'm not sure what change occurred, but it doesn't look any different to me. Try changing your "Display Options" at the bottom of the page - it could be that your setting is something short (like "last 10 days") and the threads are older than that.
