So I'll give you a quick summary and get straight to the point. We installed a JDM engine in my B13, and when we went to start the car, it started right up and sounded fine. The motor ran for a bit, but we did not drive the car because we needed to bleed the brakes. A few days later, we went to start the car up again, and this time the car seriously struggled to start. And when it finally did it barely maintained idle, and had a HORRIBLE stench of really bad gas. The following day, the car finally decided to give up and we were no longer able to get it started.

Based on the disgusting, pungent smell we were getting from the gas, we assumed it was a case of old, bad gas, as the car sat for some time before I purchased it. We filled the tank up with fresh gas, changed the fuel filter and replaced the fuel injectors, along with continuously cleaning off the fuel-soaked spark plugs, but are still unsuccessful. We also checked the fuel pump and replaced the screen, and nothing!

We're at a serious point of frustration and have eliminated all the possibilities. Someone help us out!!! :(

Have to ask the obvious, have you pulled the plugs and checked for spark? If you've got spark, where is the timing set? What are you using for ECU?

I figured that was going to be the problem, but filled it up to the line and all and nothing. Robert also put a couple extra PSIs in the right rear tire and still wouldn't start... :(

There is spark. As for the plugs, they were soaked in gas and fouled like hell. As we continued to pour fresh gas in there, primed the fuel pump, changed the injectors, and put in some fresh plugs, they were no longer gas-soaked. Although plug one was slightly wet.

As for timing, I believe was set at 15.

Gonna go work on that bitch tomorrow. Gonna hit the yard for injector harness and hope that solves the problem.

Well since Gino didn't post it up, turns out we have 0 compression in cylinder 1 and 3. Soken sold him a bad motor.
