: Z32 Brakes under SER Wheels
bluebomber 01-14-2009, 11:35 AM After a ton of request I am looking into the design of a bracket to adapt the Z32 4 piston calipers off the 300Z to fit under the stock B14 SER wheels.
The only problem is I dont have the stockers anymore ... sold them a long time ago. Need to know if someone has one for fitment purposes, I will send it back when done and offer a discount on the brackets.
Let me know whos interested, I need 5 people to start the project.
96SERTurbo 01-14-2009, 11:49 AM I have two spare B14 SE-R wheels I have been wanting to unload for a while. I was asking $50 each plus shipping. Would you like one?

Yeah but Im looking for fitment purposes only so I really dont want to buy one. would you be willing to barter for a discount on the Z32 brackets?
bluebomber 01-19-2009, 09:46 AM Bump ... I am ready to go on these ... who's interested??
96SERTurbo 01-19-2009, 10:10 AM Sorry, man. I don't need 300zx brakes. I was just trying to help you out. Additionally, I don't think borrowing one in any kind of decent shape is good b/c it is going to get scratched and beat up when using it to test fitment on such tight tolerances.
bluebomber 01-19-2009, 10:29 AM Understandable ... Im just looking for something to mount on there to simulate the B14 wheel.

bluebomber 01-19-2009, 11:01 AM So i did a little research and found this picture of some Z32 brakes on a 13. The only problem I see here is that the caliper doest seem to sit correctly on the rotor. I have the opposite issue with my fastbrakes kit where the caliper cant cover all of the rotor but on this it looks like the caliper isnt centered on the rotor. I am thinking that the rotor size want matched correctly. But it doesnt make sense becasue he said he used altima rotors which are almost identical in diameter to that of the stock TTZ brakes ...

MR-4Door-SR20DET 01-19-2009, 11:17 AM You found that pic from a B13 or S13? Was it a link from the forum?

Yeah B13 check it out here ... http://www.sr20forum.com/general-sr20/206585-**z32-calipers-b13**.html
Thrasher068 01-19-2009, 12:51 PM Well the rotor looks to small... but also the brake pad only sits in the center of the caliper. If the top of the pad is even or below the outside of the rotor then it is correct. it is a fixed in place so unless you are you are using some kind of brake mounting bracket then you are fine. If the pad sits above the overall diameter of the rotor then you have a problem. Go to advanced and get a new 300zx rotor ( cheap knockoff ) then take off one of your rotors and see if the size is correct. then return it saying it you could cut the other ones. get your $$ back
bluebomber 01-19-2009, 12:55 PM Well thats the idea ... create a bracket that will adapt the caliper from the Z to the B13 and B14. Like most designs it will use the factory mounting holes on the car and probably new mounting holes on the caliper brackets ...

MR-4Door-SR20DET 01-19-2009, 01:39 PM ^Sounds like a good plan. Try to find a 300zx rotor like the other guy suggested.
happynole 01-19-2009, 06:44 PM Did you find a B14 wheel yet? I have one in my garage that you could use. It is going out for powdercoating at some time in the future, but that is on indefinite hold for now.
bluebomber 01-19-2009, 06:47 PM That would be fantastic ... Ill just have you send it back when you send back the exhaust. BTW it shipped to you today.

bluebomber 01-20-2009, 11:48 AM Does anyone know where I can get a set of calipers for a decent price. I looked on the bay but they are like $250+. I really just need one but to actually test the brackets before they sell would be great. PM me if you have a set.
bluebomber 01-20-2009, 02:23 PM Does anyone know what rotor Fastbrakes is using on their 11 in 4 piston kit?

What are some other calipers out there that people would like to see used?? Armada? Q45, 350Z B15 Brembo's ???
NI SER-1 04-11-2009, 06:34 PM It's been a few months. Where are you on the adaptor bracket?
