I was looking to purchase my first Nissan NX 2000, but I was not too sure what it is I should be looking for. If someone with a little more experience could tell me important to know iformation, tips or recomendations when purchasing a Nissan NX 2000, I would apreciate it.

If you know, could you included :

1. Typical issues and problems the vehicles have.
2. What is recommend to be replaced.
3. How many KM or Miles is too much to purchase a used NX.
4. What repairs have you done to your vehicle, and its cost, as well as a general yearly cost.
5. What features do the vehicles have that I may not know.
6. Can you direct me to any websites

Like any other used car, you'll have to be weary of abuse and neglect. All these cars are around a decade old, so it will be evident whether the car was taken care of or not. Since you're up north, you're familiar with rust. NX2k's are hard to find, but don't hesitate to walk away from a clunker.

High miles, err km's, is something you're going to see on any example you find. This isn't a big problem if the car was kept up. The SR20DE is a tough motor with a timing chain that will last as long as the car. One thing make sure of, especially with the SR20DE, is regular oil changes. Low oil will toast the bearings - listen for knocking under load when you test drive.

The one major problem with the B13 Sentra SE-R and NX2000 was fifth gear popout. You can search here or look at SE-R.net to find out more about that. Most you find won't have it, but don't forget to give any car you drive a run in fifth gear.

Unless you can find an enthusiast-maintained car, your first year tends to be the most expensive. Struts, motor mounts, tune-up parts, etc., are common bits that need to be replaced. Use any worn parts or leaks as leverage in the price. Little things add up.

How much are you willing to pay for an NX2000? How far do you want to go?

Well, I guess I would be willing to go about 10k (Can) for a good NX. Because I'm so close to Vancouver, I will take a look down there, as they have alot more comming in, and Van is virtually winter free. I will be checking out the websites you both mentioned in the meantime. Thanks for your responses :)
