So ive been debating on doing a swap into my car, and i want turbo, but i want VVL of the VE too.

Well since the SR20VE is rare enough as it is, i really want a SR20VE-T

Now my question is, what all will i need to go about this, where can i find everything?, and how hard should this be to put in my Classic?

Hmmm, should be intresting!

Read the sticky faq and then read the ve install threads.

BINGO!!! well, you can start by contacting JUN-but be forewarned-such a prize will not go with out major financial penalty.....muhuhahahahahaha!! ok, enough with the evil shit. if you find one-especially from jun, it will cost you a fortune and a half. read up on bubba zinetties sr20ve egg w/ F/max turbo kit. if you ask me, its a waste. completre waste of time and money to make a fwd car ve-t.
just my $.02

so what about the transmission? we all know that a transmission from a P11 fit onto a GTiR DET minus a few bolts, but will it fit onto a VET?

Just get yourself an SR20VE engine. Rebuild the bottom end for lower compression, get yourself a decent turbo kit and then contact me and I can get you the SR20VET cams.

You are looking at about $2500 for the SR20VE, $1200 or so for the bottom end parts, $3000-$5000+ for a turbo kit, and $650 for the SR20VET cams. All of this excludes labor.

So figure about $10,000 for your built SR20VET versus $5000+ just for the engine from JUN if they can even get you one. Last time I contacted them they couldn't get a VET. You might have a better chance of getting one through Andreas Miko if at all.

Or you can just nix the VE idea and get the same amount of power with a decent turbo on an SR20DE for half the price.

providing the VET was released here in the UK in the X Trail, i can always buy a crashed damaged one from a scrap yard and use it to do a swap. But the transmission still remains the burning question.

What is so hard about the transmission. Just use the one that we all have. The VET is just like a DET in that it came out of AWD nissan. The block is standard SR20DE stuff. It's not like swaping a DET from a S14 that was originally rwd and has the engine going the other direction. Am I wrong?

Chuck,

Do you have the specs (lift/duration) for the VET cams? The standard SR16VE and SR20VE cams look quite mild compared to the JWT S3 and S4 SR20DE cams. I'd like to know how much more aggressive are the VET cams.

Thanks,

Steve
