i got it put in but when i go to push the clutch in the pedal goes to the floor . so i adjusted the cable to get the slack out and it would not adjust enough . so i went and bought a brand new cable and put it in and it still does the same thing it stil has too much free play the pedal pops to the floor .

can anyone help with this problem !

Did you put a new clutch in or have your flywheel turned? If so you need to compensate for the material that wasd taken off during the machining of the fly wheel.I see n this on my car and a nx2000 so far the same thing. On my b14 thier were actually holes in the trans case so you can move the mounting bracket for the cable back to make up for the cable slack it was pretty nice. They line rite up.try this and let us know.

i already tried to move the bracket back to compensate for the clutch and flywheel

it now has about 1/4" too much play

Redrill the holes in the mounting bracket, the one that attaches to the tranny. Drill them to the LEFT of the current holes. Re-attach to the tranny and adjust the cable to your preference. Are you sure the cable is attached to the pedal? It may have come undone from the hook.

Someone, JWT, JGY, needs to make a clutch cable that's 1/4" shorter than stock, thicker and lined with teflon or some anti-friction agent.

You can use the GA16DE clutch cable, its shorter and Jim Wolf told me it would work when I talked to him.

i tried already to move the bracket but it will not move far enough to compensate

just got off the phone with chris at sr20development and he told me to use the 1.6 cable ! is it that much shorter than the 2.0 cable ??
he also said that it would only last about 9 months !!
anyone who is doing this currently can they comment on it

Check my pictures here,

Its a better trick than redrilling the mount. Here's the link to the original thread discussing it.

Yup...I thought of that...the clutch cable master they call me...;)
I'm not sure I'd use the cast iorn piece, I'd want the galvinzed steel piece...but I'm partial, thats what I have.

i have the extreme pp and a stock disc !
before i had the tranny done by sr20 i had a plate welded to the mounting bracket for support and two new holes drill to the left of the original holes this moved the bracket back towards the firewall!! thats all good it worked fine .

now with the tranny rebuilt and the same clutch and pp the cable seems to need to go toward the front of the car to get the play out .
i dont know why the change it was working fine until i had the tranny rebuilt but now it doesnt want to work right !!!

the only thing i see that could be the culprit would be the lever coming out of the tranny it is not the same one that was in the tranny when i sent the tranny to sr20

would this make the differance the lever not be the correct one??
like if someone who tranny had that lever and it was bent slighly or fatigued???? could this lever be different from the older trannies????

i have already broke one of these levers and i had wellded a plate on top of the lever to add support!!!!!
