Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone could help me.

my BB is overboosting and it maxing out the turbo.

Usally the stock is 12lbs, but it his 25.5 lbs and it does this everytime i lay into the thottle.

I replced the line from the wastegate to the boost controoler figuring it might have a tear in it. That didnt fix the problem.
I then took off my Boost contorller and ran without it. Didnt work.

I need to check all of my pipes to make sure I dont have a leak, but also could this be a wasgate problem.

The wastegate stills moves. It doesnt seem like its getting stuck.

Any thoughts or anyone who have gone through this **?
Anything would be helpful

Thanks,
Bryan.

Still could be that the wastegate isn't opening properly, thus not allowing enough exhaust gasses to flow away from the turbine.

I assume you have an internally wastegated stock bb turbo?

No its a T3076R, actually was just put on back in november. and yes its an internal wastegate,. The spring in it already was hard to press, but it hit 12lbs so. and been like this until from my knoweldge 2 days ago.

It weird, that last time i got on this it didnt happen, i didnt get on it for like 3 or 4 weeks because it being cold and just havent drove it that much. Now the other day I tried to get on it and hit 25.5 at 4 1/2 rpms and wouldnt go past it. It should of only hit 12lbs.

Unless my pipes have a leak, which i wouldnt see why they would, im most likely going to order a new wastegate.

What kind of actuator are you running? Sounds like it failed not allowing the arm to extend and open up the flapper. I would pressure test the system and see what you find.

I agree with a pressure test. Check for boost leaks.

its the actuator, 99% sure, i just had this problem last week, wouldnt hold at 7psi, went to around 15-20, changed it and runs and holds at 7 like a dream. Diafram in actuator is bad my man

Okay. I well I have a 12lb actulator came with the turbo. It may be adjustable. I think the flap isnt opening correctly either. Its been so cold here in PA. I got to get it in the shop, hopefully this weekend.

What kind of tools do i need to pressure test? does anybody have a link for that? Honestly I never done it before. Never had to.

Thanks Bryan
