a while back i picked up this motor, appears to be jdm.. i took off the oil pans ect. to check the bearings to see if they were worn, well i found that #4 had no bearing at all #3 was worn, but #2 an #1 were fine i think someone kinda spun a bearing an took it apart to see an then slapped the oil pans an such back on an decided to sell it...
anyways i found these numbers written on the crank.. my friend had to take them with his cell phone cause my cameras dead

theres some numbers you cant see it goes 10 10833 20
i've never seen it on any other cranks so i was kinda hopin someone would know what it means, thanks

i'm probably gonna buy this motor to rebuild and also want to know if knife edging is worth the cost?

wrecking yards usually write on parts like that. pretty shitty if someone really did just slap it together in hopes of a quick buck. i suppose its good for a rebuild but if it was spun like that the crank may need work, and or new rods.

i wonder what the valve train looks like lol
knife edging is a waste of money. ESP on a DD
and i would go back to the buyer and get my money back. shit like that pisses me off
I concur, someone needs a swift kick to the face

i bought it from a friend who got it for his datsun pickup .. i informed him it was a fwd motor an would take too much work to make it work, so i offered to buy it an he let me... an theres no gettin ahold of the dude that sold it to him :( whats odd is theres like no damage that is visable on the crank... an its soo shiney an clean.. the cams look like garbage.. lil flat spots... un even wear.. TOAST im givin this motor to boomstick as a consolation prize for buying my gf's 92 b13 se

be sure you really check out the engine before you decide to use it.
could be balls deep into fixing this engine and in the end be like wtf was i thinking
really look at the cyl walls, crank, journals, rods, pistons, cumbustion camber, valve train etc.

he will take the entire motor apart.. take the block to a machine shop an have it worked over, he will use prolly some BC cams ect.. prolly some sr16 pistons and ofcourse a good crank.. prolly not the one pictured unless the machine shop checks it over.. this motor will be a pretty much DD for him but a very tuff quick DD :) we might even turn it into a rally machine

should have hit me up a couple of weeks ago... i gave away 2 sr's with rod knock to the scrapers... if you want i have another good block with a bad head you can have if you come and pick up... or if we have a meet sooner or later i could possibly bring it for a fee...
