Hey everyone if any of you have some spare camber plates around, I would like to borrow them I'd be willing to pay shipping to have them sent here and would not need them for more than twoweeks maximum. So if anyone is willing, that'd be awesome.
Oh yeah I need them or a B14 SE-R

B13 and B14 share the same front suspension. Do you work at a place that does fabrication? I have some cusco plates, I think most members would prefer the ground control style plates. If no one replies about the GC plates, I'll loan you mine.

Nope, Me and my pops kinda just build stuff with what we have in our shop, then farm out anything that we need to. I dont know the difference between the GC, Cusco, and Stillen plates enlighten me

As long as they're compatible with a front STB I'm in.

I'd prefer the Stillen style, myself.

$tealin and Cusco are the same. They mount underneath the shock tower and have camber only adjustment. Major problem is they eat up suspension travel. I estimate at least 1/2" and you know our cars can't afford to give up any travel up front. I would only recommend these plates to someone with shortened shocks.

Ground Control plates mount on TOP of the strut tower and more the mounting point of the shock up ~1", giving you an extra inch of suspension travel. This is a very, very good thing. In addition, GC plates have caster adjustment as well as camber. Also a good thing. I highly recommend if you get one to do a "knock off", it should be the GC plates.

I retract my previous statement. As long as I can keep my strut bar :D

Why don't you just design them yourself?

Camber plates are not rocket science. However, don't expect to save a lot of money. If you can actually do the machining yourself, you might. The minute you have to pay someone to cut a one-off on a manual machine, the cost will go way up.

You might learn something by designing your own. In any event, you will learn to appreciate why folks charge what they do for things like this.

You idiot. You are going to be stealing someone else's many hours of design and R&D. If you think they are such a ripoff, then design your own and see how easy it is to sell them for even $300. I work in the fabrication industry, and let me tell you; they cannot be making that much profit at all from those camber plates, when you consider raw stock and machining costs, fasteners, bearings, tooling, anodizing, employees, shipping, shop space, R&D costs, etc..

Some of us dont have the kind of income to outright buy these items, so there needs to be some kind of alternative to be able to get them.

You will CERTAINLY find that in the long run, you will spend a LOT more than the cost of the GC plates if you expect to have something even remotely functional, and make it yourself. You don't have any idea what you are getting into.

As well, I do not like being made a fool of because you went back and changed your original post. That is a rather cheap way to make it look like I attacked an innocent post.

thanks
