Hey I am having some problems and wanted to see if maybe some of you can help. I just put another motor in my car last week. For some reason it is running too rich. It won't even idle. You have to hold it at 2k for it to run. It does ok when you drive at high rpms cause it has enough spark to burn the gas. If you are driving and floor it it does good. The last motor I put in the car (2 weeks ago) was doing the same thing. IT blew before I could figure out what was happening. Now since this motor is doing the same thing, but not as bad, I realize that it is not the motor. I have checked the FPR, TPS voltage, MAF voltage, and replaced the Oxygen sensor. I have used 2 different ECUs and 2 different sets of plug wires(I once heard of people having trouble with the nology wires interfering with the ECU) it ran the same with both. I also put a new cap and rotor that I had on it. If any of you can help or have any suggestions please let me know, as I am running out of things to check. TIA

Have you checked the MAF ground? Where is your TPS set? Did you swap the sensors from your original motor over?

Yeah I checked the ground I think it was at .04 or what ever. I will check again tommorrow to make sure. I left the TPS at .43 which is alittle low but I figured it would be OK since its running rich now. Yes I am using the TPS from the original motor since my car is an Auto and both motors came from sticks. The sticks have a different TPS.

OK the car is supposed to be idling when I check the MAF ground. The car will not idle, so does anyone know another way to check it.

Just reground the MAF (if you haven't already) instead of checking it. At least you'll know its ok if you just go ahead and ground it.

EDIT: oops, double post.

OK I checked it with the ignition on. It was at .008. Anything under .009 is supposed to be ok. What now?
