Ok. I am confused. Is it an Exedy clutch kit or a Clutchmasters clutch kit. Or is it an Exedy clutch kit reboxed as a Clutchmasters clutch kit.

Anyhow, Exedy makes an excellent OEM replacement clutch for the SR20's. I would have to say it is probably the best on the market.

I would check with the seller and ask them what the clamping force of the pressure plate is. It might be a OE replacement kit and not a performance kit.

Its not bad at all. NismoPC will have some input about this.

From my experience: I have this PP in my car, and at one point I thought I'd pull my tranny off to change the clutch because I thought it broke (it ended up being an axle, but lets not talk about that :o ).

I ordered a JWT PP and 2001 Sentra SE disc to upgrade from that clutch kit on eBay, only to find that the JWT PP looked exactly like the PP i just took out of my car. Needless to say, I put the old PP back in (only had 15K miles) with the new disc. The disc alone made it grab tons harder. And, I have 225 extra bucks in my pocket.

Moral of the story: Buy that kit (or go to nissan-accessories.com and get it for 99.95) and go to courtesyparts.com and get the 2001 SE disc. It has more clutch material on it so it makes more contact with the flywheel and PP.

Result: :)

:D

I purchased my kit from C.A.P. Clutch MFG. out of Puerto Rico. $99.95. Somthing like $118 shipped to my door in less than 5 days.

The only thing about this company is they package parts to make the kit. Mine came with the Daikin pressure plate and Aisin disk. jacen99se ordered the same exact kit and received the Daikin pressure plate and a Exedy disk. I will tell you that the Exedy disk was of superior quality compared to my Aisin disk. But I could not complain for the price. And it seems to grab well.

The stock clutch is 450kg clamping force I believe and the C.A.P. kit is rated at 540kgs. they also carry High Performance kits for a little more.

what about the pedal feel? is too stiff??? 150 bucks for a clutch is a damn good price.

I had read that JWT takes an off the shelf PP but rebuilds it to have a higher clamping force.

I'm wondering that even though they looked the same, the JWT clamps better.

The pictures that are posted look like a stock replacement. The disk looks just like my 2001 SE disk I got from JWT. Now the pressure plate is a different story. On my JWT the teeth ( if thats what they are called ) were much wider on my JWT. I did a side by side comparison with my stock PP after it was out of the car and the difference really was noticable. I don't know if those teeth have anything to do with the clamping force of the PP but there was a cosmetic difference. *By the way my JWT setup has a softer pedal feel than stock but it does hold my turbo setup* Well for the most part;):D

What about this pressure plate with a 2001 se clutch, would it work good for a car with a few bolt-ons.

The last JWT pressure plate that I saw and some pictures were also posted on here was a Daikin pressure plate. This is generally the same exact pressure plate found in the majority of oem replacement and some aftermarket clutch kits.

JWT and others tweak the fingers on the pressure plate and some even changes the spring load.

Here is the thread (You could have done a search like I did) where the Nissan OEM and JWY were compared side-by-side!

Bringing this thread back.
Q: The clutch kit from Nissan Accessories.com, would this clutch with a 00 or 01 SE Disk be able to handle I/H/E/Pullies, s3 cams, NOS, and JWT ECU?

Otherwise I am getting the JWT PP/00-01 combo.

Thanks.

i think you meant to say 00-01 SE disc. if so, there was a thread or two about the setup. do a search for charlie2020 - IIRC, he runs this clutch setup on a det and says it works. if you look a few posts up on this thread and you'll see that NismoSER also uses this clutch with I/H/E and s3's. i hope this gives you a better idea as there really is no right answer - everyone's got a different opinion.

Thanks bro. Didn't notice that. I am more worried about have to much power. I can afford either JWT or the cheaper PP state above but I would always like to save the cash for something else. I dont plan on running anything more than what I stated before.

The reason it looks the same is because it is the same. JWT just alters the "fingers" on the PP to make it stronger. There is a differance. Is it worth the extra $100 over the stock PP? Who knows---I have the JWT and like it.
