Note: Take a measurement off you wastegate actuator rod free lenght so you have a reference to STOCK setting.
Note: Boost psi should be verified after shortening the rod lenght don't assume 1 turn equals 1 psi increase or vise versa.
Note: I would never adjust for less boost (lengthening rod) because you run the risk of having the wastegate door always open and that will lead to turbo lag (BAD) and make the turbo work harder.

This isnt necessary if a electronic or manual boost controller right?

This is if you dont have one yet

No, its not necessary. But it still a nice thing to have I'll explain why.

Say your wastegate actuator has a little slop in it (an actuator get harder and harder to open the more it opens) as boost psi rises it will take advantage of this and creep what little pressure it can out the wastegate door (remember boost is right there knocking on the door of the wastegate) maybe very little but its there and if it gets out thats causeing some lag.

And yes this is mainly for the people that don't have one.

Good post...but I think I'll just spend $50 at www.boostcontroller.com so I don't have to F with my actuator rod for more boost. ;) But, if you have sloppy actuator rod, this is the way to go.
