unless they changed it, PR uses a K&N filter.

From what I have been told, NOT based on experience...the foam filters tend to choke off the engine and some little bits of the foam can break down and get sucked into the intake. Urban legend or truth...you be the judge.

My PR came with a Weapon R Dragon Filter, with documentation as being a weapon R filter. They work great, foam is never as good as a high end paper filter IIRC from tests run in the past. You can clean it and reuse it over and over.

No foam filter, paper, mess, is good ONLY USE K&N.
They did a big test on this it would make you sick to see how much actual dirt gets into your engine if you use a filter other than K&N and K&N didn't perform this test. I wish I could find the site.

APEXI super power flow was the best but it was tested on a turbo car HKS foam thing came in last

yes its true I recently go the newest PR CAI catalog, and they now come with a weapon R filter. instead of that long K&N that they used to have.

Mike Kojima, Nissan tuner extrodinaire, said the following...

http://www.sr20de.net/engine/cool_air_intake.html

Basically he said that the PRI with the Stillen/JWT POP charger was the way to go. That really only works if you had a POP charger sitting around (which I did) and you have to buy an additional MAF adapter which is another 36 bucks or so.

Since Mike had tested that, AEM has come out with a CARB legal intake (way too much money).

The one bright side of the PRI/POP charger is that you get a carb legal sticker with the pop charger now.

Oddly enough, when I bought my PRI about 10 mo ago, it came with the long K&N that everyone talks about.

I heard that the ITG foam filters were the best, but it's not substantiated.

Bought mine a few years ago and it came with the long K&N. Not long after I bought the pop charger, and have loved every minute of it.:D
