Ok is there any company out there that makes different gears for the SE-R? I know companies make them for Honda's but I havent seen any for the B13. Also Im about to need a new tranny what should I get as far as a new tranny goes? One out of newer 200SX or just get mine rebuilt?? I dont know what to do in this situation.

I have been thinking about this also. I dont know of any new gears for our cars. Every once in a while andreas has a sr16ve tranny that has a shorter final driver and shorter 1st-3rd gears. I was thinking of getting one of these in a year to take the final drive out of and put it in my current tranny. I want the lower final drive but not the lower gears. As far as a new tranny have you priced a rebuild. My quess is over $800. I would just buy a used one.

There's a company in Sydney, Precision Robotics or something - they make synchro, half-dog and dog gearsets for FWD SR20DE tranny - any ratios you like - I'm sure they would also have a better R&P. I haven't been able to find a web site, but there's a thread with a contact number in the Turbo forum from a while back.

Also - Quaiffe makes a full dog gear set too - I've never looked into it though.

It surprizes me this doesn't come up more often what with all you drag racers out there - turbo, sure, NOS, sure - how 'bout something a little better than 4.18:1 ?

I was thinking about it the other day because I was talking with this guy in another board and he had a B18C5 in his hatch( ITR engine) and he also had the ITR tranny but with a different 1st gear or something and he said he loved it sure made a big difference. Alot quicker acceleration!

That is some expensive equipment for a daily driven car and not a race car.

Maybe so, but $2200USD for a dog gear set is mind bogglingly cheap - compare to Quaiffe at anywhere from $6K to $10K

Dog gear sets have apparently gone down in price because they've been made legal for FIA Group N cars (as long as the correct ratios and cases are used)
