Update what? He is telling everyone that he is busy with the ecu's he is working on, and pretty much to stop asking for bins. Calum gets a shit ton of emails everyday with people wanting new bins and asking if he can burn some different chips and send to them. This is not his primary source of income, and he is only one person and can only do so much.

hey, before you start flipping out at me, is it that hard to update and let people know, oh hey, i have been busy. i will get them out .... (this day) or i ran out of chips, waiting for more to come. i would just like to know what the position is on it and where he stands. i have not had contact with him for weeks now and have no idea what is going on.
calum is one of the smartest people i have ever met, and i know and understand that he gets prob MILLIONS of people asking electrical problems.

I don't understand: are folks waiting to buy actual EEPROMS because they don't have them, or are folks waiting to buy EEPROMS with BIN files because they don't have burners? Or, are folks expecting Calum to provide to them customized tuning because they don't want to do it themselves?

Or something else...?

If this is about programming, Calum provides the hardware guys, he's not really a tuner nor is he a retailer. He doesn't have the time to develop customized programs for every persons' individual details, that's OUR responsibility as users (notice the BIN sharing forum a bit up on the screen there?) Frankly, I hate to be cold, but if you're looking for Calum to provide specific programming for you because you can't or won't do it yourself, maybe JWT is a better alternative for you? 'Cause all you're going to get is a pair of EEPROMs with nothing more than the BIN files you can download yourself above in the BIN sharing area...

I'd be glad to help by burning EEPROMs for folks, but I think getting a bit antsy towards Calum is not really the right tactic...

Just asking, but this seems kinda silly. - GA

im not waiting for a custom setup par say. im just waiting for the eeprom with the bins in it because i do not know how, nor can i afford the hardware of software it takes to burn in chips. and my setup has changed what maf i will be running, and fuel pressure. from my understanding, that takes a new bin on the chips.

Well, here's how I can help, both with information and assistance.

First, the Moates burner is only $85:
http://www.moates.net/index.php?cPath=51

And the software is free (comes with it, and available for download):
http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=67

EEPROMs are also inexpensive (which one are we using?):
http://www.moates.net/index.php?cPath=26

Instructions are available here online, and/or we can assist you with it. Armed with all this, you can burn whatever programming you can find, and if things change it cost you nothing but time to fix it. No waiting.

But, if you insist this isn't for you, I'll be glad to help, but you must help yourself first. Go to the main Calum forum here, go to the BIN sharing threads, and do a search to see if the BIN you want isn't already out there. If you can't find it with the search, then start your own thread there, titled something like "BIN Needed: SR20VE, N1 cams, blah, blah, blah." That way if the BIN is already made by someone else, you/I just download it.

Once you have that BIN, contact me. I'll find out what EEPROMS you have, I'll even buy them for you if necessary (or you can send me yours), I'll upload that BIN to your EEPROMs, and ship it to you at reasonable reimbursement for my time and expenses.

In the end, you're certainly much better off having the capability to do it yourself, and there's plenty of us here online willing to help you through it. But, if you'd prefer to just write a check for it, I can help you there, too.

Trust me, you can do this yourself. And it's better than waiting for someone else.

I have been sending out chips to people that PM me the last couple of months, about two people a week, and I'm happy to continue. Calum needs a damn break from all of these requests.

More simpler, if you have some bins that you dont care to share, post them in the file exchange section. Some people with RTs need some bins to start with too.

I have been hunting an updated Tuner Pro XDF file for B14 with launch control, etc included and TTP min

im very convinced that chip burning is not for me. its not the 85$ burner either. i dont want to make a mistake and end up blowing up the car or something. i have no experience with chips.

That has already been posted how to update... And it has already been noted that there is a problem with the LC modified B14 bin so you shouldn't use it anyways.... You guys really need to start reading.

Burning chips is idiot proof... The hardest part is putting them back in the ecu... Because some people screw up the sockets

Plus eleventy billion. Uploading a BIN file is not any more difficult than connecting up a USB hard drive and accessing the data. Really. The *real* difficult part, the part that can blow up cars, is tuning and defining that BIN; I can certainly appreciate not wanting to do that, it's not for everyone.

But, again, if doing simple BIN uploads is not for you, look up: there's at least 3-4 of us willing to help you. Just let us know what you need and how you want to do it.

P.S.GTSWRX, I think what you meant to write was "...if you have some bins that you do care to share..." I've uploaded a few BINs from my racing program, based on the mods and dyno testing we've done. Our race shop now has a DynaPack, and when I can bribe Erick into helping me with the tuning we'll get finer-detailed "VE with DE MAF and TB" programs, one for power on high octane, one for fuel economy on cheaper fuel, and one for passing emissions easily...and, of course, we'll make those available to everyone.
