I got this cheesy 1.6 after my SE-r was in a few accidents last year. I'm looking for all those small fixes / mods that you guys know off the top but would take me months of searching. If you could just drop some search terms here it would be most appreciated.

My main gripe with this princess (besides being a 1.6) is that take-off is non-linear. There's little flat spots in the power band on accel. ... any ideas?

I have deleted the egr and put the resistor in - all good.

what is a good number for advanced timing on a stock motor?

are there two coolant sensors like the SR20? - one for dash and one for ECU, where is the one for the dash?

thanks ...and yes, I have the FSM.

I advanced mine to 15 without any problem you can take it as high as 20 but be careful for knocking. but seriously 1.6 sucks and I'm excited about getting my gtir.

Sweet score on the GTiR

are there any other forums that are any good for 1.6GAy? I hate being 'that guy' thats totally in the wrong room.

Yeah Nissanforums.com has a decent section on the GA16 couple of turbo guys over there. I have a JWT ecu for the GA I'm selling if your interested PM me.

I've had a B13 1.6 sentra since 2004 and have been in this forum since 2005. I just got my first se-r a week ago. I used to go to nissanforums for technical questions and mods, but to tell you the truth, this forum would be able to help with most of that stuff just fine. I found out that if I just get along with the members and not be a d%$k, they will actually help you out. They even helped de-ricify my ride form 3 years ago haha.

For the timing advance, I set mine to 15 degrees but put 91 octane since premium is recommended when BTDC setting is this high. I wouldn't recommend higher than 15 though. 10 degrees is the stock and your car should idle between 650-750 for a manual transmission. 12 degrees is the highest you should go if you don't want to upgrade to premium gas.
