: my car is jerking when i hit the gas 96serchick 02-26-2009, 12:00 AM Like the title says my car is jerking a little when I hit the gas, I only really notice it when I'm shifting from 2nd to 3rd but its like the spark plugs need to be change but I just changed them like a month ago, the oil level is good so I'm not sure what it is. If any of you have a idea or know what's wrong can you please let me know thanks UsaPride 02-26-2009, 12:11 AM it kinda sounds like maybe the motor mounts are going bad..but it would be jerking more then just from 2nd to 3rd.. you could check the plugs again even *** u just replaced them, just to make sure they are not black or super white. what kind of jerking too? the motor choking out or what?? ~cody budgetNX 02-26-2009, 12:44 AM it kinda sounds like maybe the motor mounts are going bad..but it would be jerking more then just from 2nd to 3rd.. you could check the plugs again even *** u just replaced them, just to make sure they are not black or super white. what kind of jerking too? the motor choking out or what?? ~cody dont just replace parts to try to fix a problem lol. and like he mentioned, what kind of jerking is it? is it a power loss jerking? or like a clutch/lsd jerking? 96serchick 02-26-2009, 01:29 AM Lol I know not to replace random parts to fix the car I needed to do the plugs then today I notice the problem, the jerking is like its misfiring it just doesn't pick up really good anymore but ill check the plugs again when the suns out so I can see what I'm doing and ill let you guys know but if you can think of anything else please let me know cause if I can't fix it my mom is making me get rid of it and get another car that I don't really want budgetNX 02-26-2009, 10:53 AM the missfire is going to be a fuel or spark problem. id check to make sure your spark plugs are firing. is it random or does it do it all the time? sometimes a random misfire can be caused by a bad spark plug wire. if the missing seems like all the cyl. are missing, check the coil wire. gl 96serchick 02-26-2009, 02:55 PM I ordered new spark plug wires cause one of them is jammed into the distributor cap so I thought that'd be good to do since I haven't changed them personally and I just finished putting in a new fuel filter and the car is running a lot better I haven't noticed any misfiring, thanks for the help siberian21 02-26-2009, 05:33 PM I'd suggest checking your motor mounts as well.
