So when I bought my car the connector on the antenna cord where it plugs into the back of the radio was smashed. I tried ordering a new cord from Nissan, what they ordered me was the antenna cord for the antenna that's incorporated into the rear defogger. Obviously since I have an antenna sticking out of my RF fender thats not going to work.

My question is the only way to get that cord is to order a new base? Also how the hell do you get cord out? I took the glove box out and the metal brace out, but the cord runs on top of the blower box and behind it and my hands are too fat to fit up in there and reach it. The pic on the parts computer shows the base with a small cord going out of it, but from the pic it's no where near long enough to reach the back of the radio.

Radio Shack sells the replacement plugs so you don't have to replace the cord.

If not, in my opinion, go to the auto parts store (or Radio Shack) and get a whole new antenna kit.

or you could go to a local Car Audio shop in your area and have your problems solved.... thats what we are there for. in my area we replace atleast 10-20 antennas a month due to breakage from the car wash business,, lol they break them when they go to take the antenna off before it goes through the wash,, by turning it the wrong way..,, and yes we replace the mast/base/cable and all.. sometimes the aftermarket antenna looks the same as oem,, but every now and then it looks a bit different,,,

if you where in my area I would help you,,
