well i got my erebuni gtr front bumper painted about 6 months ago...i absolutely loved it but now it's a serious pain in the ass. i havent hit anything but i have spider web crack in the paint everywhere on the bumper and it is peeling off on the side..exact same spot on both sides actually. the only incident i had was when i parked too close to a curb and the bumper got hung and was pulled off the right side bolt. the guy that painted it does kits all the time and has always done good work to all my family's cars. the bumper is polyurethane...is there some sort of special paint or primer you need to use for it? i mean everytime i look theres a new crack in the paint it seems.HELP!

I believe that there is a special primer for bumpers. But your body man probably already used it.

Without sounding like a D-head...just take it back to him and show him. Don't say a thing---just see what he says. Most likely he will fix it.

I sware, sometimes just showing people their mistakes and keeping your mouth shut will drive them to help more than bitching at them. Of course, this is only my experience and certainly only my $.02;)

The Primer is called FLEX AGENT by Dupont.

I've heard that most places don't even use flex agents anymore, but in this case it might be necessary. He'll know better than I, but if you've got crows feet, then I'm suspecting that his primer closed up before base coated it. Or maybe he didn't even primer it. He should have used a primer-sealer prior to putting the color coat on. I like Curt's suggestion, just take it to him and see what he says.

i took it by there the other day bc the thing fell off the bolt again. he made a custom braket for it so it would stay but anyway..he looked at it and said they would have to respray it and that it was from the bumper flexing so much..i didnt know there was a difference in paints until the other day my friend mentioned somethin so i thought i would ask everyone's opinion. im going by there next week.
