: Received Pacesetter header and customer service was GREAT!!!
NismoPC 08-28-2002, 08:11 PM Well, I got my new Pacesetter header yesterday. Was packaged well. Came with all the bolts, nuts, and washers. Also came with a primary to secondary gasket, a cat gasket and a exhaust manifold exhaust. All this for $152 shipped from www.nopionline.com.
After examining the primaries and secondary, I noticed that the weld on #1 piping near the manifold flange was not completely around the pipe and I could see light right through it. Also a dent was on primary #1 and #2 at the bends. Ah hell! ACK! Argh!
So long story short:
I call Pacesetter directly and talk to Greg. He is a very nice guy. joked with me too! Told him the problem, he talked to another guy in the background, took some info from me, provided me a RGA # (return item per warranty coverage reference #) and told me he'd ship out a new one tomorrow. WOW! Once I receive the replacement, I am to send the damaged one back to them.
Talk about service. TWO THUMBS UP FOR PACESETTER!!!!
On another note. The newer SR20DE Pacesetter header only tack welds the outside of the 4 primaries with two spot welds to the flange, BUT does a full weld on the inside of the pipes to the flange and then planes the engine side down smooth.

That's the way welders will do it. Only one side is completely welded and the other side is left with some space to expand and contract. If both sides are welded all around then over time one side will crack because of different expansion/contraction rate between the two.
Oldie
just wondering, when did you place your oder with nopi? and how long did it take to get to your house
namrak 08-28-2002, 11:23 PM wow you actually recieved something you ordered from nopi?
NismoSER 08-28-2002, 11:41 PM I ordered my Pacesetter thru Nopi a few weeks ago, and pending my order, Brandon (NismoPC) did as well. I ordered my header and got it in a week. You just have to make sure to tell Nopi that Pacesetter actually has them in stock.
808se-r 08-29-2002, 12:22 AM I ordered my Pacesetter Header + Exhaust from nopi about 6 weeks ago.. those fuckers charged me on the day I ordered it and I haven't gotten any response from emails and calling customer service, they keep referring me to a David Knight, and this guy is never at his desk!!!!!! nro does he return messages.
I'm starting to get impatient, 6 weeks is a hella long time.. ^%$!%^@$!(&* one more week and I'm gonna have to dispute my charges / cancel my order, this is ridiculous...
how do you get in touch with Pacesetter? phone number? maybe I can call them to find out where the heck my header is.

Ha ha. Here's a good one:
"What's the status on that rear swaybar I ordered a month ago?"
"What order?"
Nopi's right out. They can't even make it to square one.
SERiousRacer 08-29-2002, 02:44 AM I ordered a Front Passengerside strut from nopi and the sent me the ****** Driver side and it took me about 4 hours of calling nopi back and forth which they referred me to David Knight, since he never answered I had to ghetto find him by calling for another person and demanding them to transfer me to him, finally I called KYB and had them call David Knight and finally they refunded my money, but they never asked for the strut back... so i ended up with a free one.. /shrug =)

I ordered the header on August 19th, Monday and recieved it on August 27th, Tuesday. Took 7 business days.
Another added tidbit:
Nopi sells the PS header shipped for $152 if you get hold of someone who knows what the hell they are doing. If you order it from Paesetter, they charge actual suggested retail. I believe it is around $239 or so. Don't order from Pacesetter.
Also, I was able to see through the blacked out section of the invoice Pacesetter sent with the shipment. It appears Pacesetter sells those headers to wholesellers at $89.00 each from what I could tell. Which seems right. If a business isn't making atleast 100% markup, they aren't making any money.
808se-r 08-30-2002, 01:14 AM just an update, I just got my Header and Exhaust today!! Now, all I'm waiting for from NOPI is my O2 Sensor...
nj1266 08-30-2002, 05:13 PM Other than Pacesetter and NOPI where can I order a PS header. I am very interested in a cheap header for my Classic. It is going to be the cheapest race car ever built :D
NismoSER 08-30-2002, 05:55 PM summit racing, but you'll still go thru the same s.h.i.t. because pacesetter is ridiculous.

NismoSER 08-30-2002, 10:17 PM If you buy directly from Nopi, they charge you 239 for a regular black painted header. on the other hand, nopi, jcwhitney and those race shops will sell it to you for 150 and change.
