: jdm installed, but need rotted flexpipe? Help...
GameDay 08-29-2002, 10:55 AM I was pleased to hear get the call from the mechanic. The car is running with some vibration at idle that disappears when running. He also thinks the wheel bearings are going...how much to do each wheel, and how hard?
He said the car is loud b/c the flexpipe is rotted. $275 at the dealership? Anyone have a good used one for cheap, or know where I can get something that works for cheap...anything will do.
Thanks and God Bless!
GameDay
PS - gonna pick it up right now....the mechanics seemed as if they were trying to conceal how much fun they had with it! :)
NismoPC 08-29-2002, 11:38 AM Suggestion:
Pacesetter header - $152 shipped. www.nopionline.com
:D
If Nopi says they don't have any, tell them to call Pacesetter directly 'cause they have 40+ in stock as of last week! Took 7 days for me to get mine and NismoSER to get his.
Toolapcfan 08-29-2002, 12:31 PM Right on Mike! You should come over man. I live behind Wal-Mart off of Fort. You take that road past wal-mart and take your second right onto 104th, then when you get to crown point you'll see my cars in my driveway right in front of you. I should be home all day.
GameDay 08-29-2002, 02:35 PM Thanks everyone!
This car...make that this engine freaking r-o-c-k-s! I'm grinning from ear to ear as I blast through all the gears! I take it to 73K then screech in second. Still learning the car, but man she is fun. I can't even fathom a det right now, as that thing would probably spin all day!
Will this engine drop in any other makes...perhaps a Honda/Acura too? It feels almost like a GSR engine, but about $ 3,000 cheaper for a swap.
Holy Mackeral...thanks for all the advice and input! I think I'm addicted now! :) A little paint, a little clean-up, and she's good to go!
Toolapcfan...I'll try to buzz by tonight...as I have to do some work down in Bennington, then from there, I'll stop by. What other cars are in the driveway?

GameDay 08-29-2002, 02:37 PM ToolAPCfan,
Please e-mail me your exact address. Again, my e-mail is mmanahan123@yahoo.com.
Later!
Mike
Toolapcfan 08-29-2002, 02:42 PM Should be both, dark grey and red B13's. Maybe my wife's white grand am as well. It's a pink house, you can't miss it! Freakin' pink house, feel like I'm trailer trash. :( I don't even notice it anymore, and that's sad. 10408 Crown Point Ave. Crown point is between military and fort.
GameDay 08-29-2002, 02:48 PM Cool,
I'll try to make it, but be warned as I'll be all scummed out as I'll be building cabinets in a barn with the temps at about 100 degrees in the barn. :)
Crown Point...that the road that runs right beside the McDonalds on 90th just north of Fort right? :)
See ya!
Mike
Toolapcfan 08-29-2002, 02:51 PM No, that's old military. If you take that road though, take it until you get to the post office on your left, it'll be just after you get across the bridge that goes over the interstate, turn left onto that road in front of the P.O. and then take your next right, and then stay on there until you come to the second house on the right.
SR20DEe 08-29-2002, 03:21 PM 275 for a flex pipe.???? jdm exhaust manifold or american????
christ i got my 2001s stock front pipe for near 100 bucks..
is the the older sr20s flex pipe made of gold??
or is it a once peice type of deal..
Toolapcfan 08-30-2002, 10:37 AM I don't get it either. I'm pretty sure they sell that flex pipe stuff at auto parts stores by the foot and it ain't no $275 I can tell you that! This is similar to DET downpipes, $170. The toughest part of a downpipe would be the flange and that would be a piece of cake to fab up and if you can't weld, so what, have the muffler shop do it after they bend your pipe for you. Even if you can weld, it probably wouldn't be worth the $15 you'd save by doing it yourself.
