My car had suddenly started making a loud ticking sound coming from under the VC the other day. I checked my oil last night and it was not even showing up on the dipstick! I put in a full 2 quarts of Mobil 1 before it hit the H mark.

Now I know that my VC has been leaking for a few months now, and I have driven it hard, so is it possible that I was a full 2 quarts low? Since I only drove about 2 miles with it making the ticking noise, it should still be ok, right? The noise stopped after putting in the extra oil.

Guess who's putting in a new VC gasket tonight?!

Some of the oil maybe coming from the front seal. My original engine was leaking like a SOB from there. It is hard to tell with the main pulley and all the oil that has runned down from oil filter changes.

Thankfully my front seal will be being replaced next week anyway when I put in my new UR Pullies! We'll see if that helps things. I changed my VC gasket today and looks like no leaking from the VC gasket anymore.
