: Convention Swap Meet?

Hello,

They say that the only dumb questions are the ones you don't ask ... I hope that still holds true after this one.

I'm new to this forum but not new to Sentra SE-R's. I've never been to an SR20 convention and I'd like to know if it's a good place sell B13 Sentra SE-R interior and light mechanical parts. Is there a formal or informal swap meet at these events?

My son raced a '93 Sentra SE-R back in '02. Back at that time, we had some good sponsors and we were gearing up to run a circle track car, road coarse car, drag car and autocross car. Unfortunately, we rented a larger race shop to accommodate the operation .... and the new landlord burned the whole building down to the ground inadvertently while he was burning grass out of the gravel around his building. I lost four B13 Sentra SE-R' race cars that were in various stages of completion.

We had some good mechanical parts and a ton of good interior items that were removed from two of the Sentra's and stored at a mini warehouse unit off-site. If there is going to be a swap meet next week-end at the convention ..... I'll haul the stuff down there and try to peddle it.... or if anybody reading this would like to make an offer on the whole lot (too much to list here), I'd be willing to bring all of it to the convention, or drop it off on my way there if you live someplace between Knoxville, TN and Savannah, GA.

Thanks,
Richard

The convention is a great place to sell parts. Here is a pic of the mobile SR20 parts store that I personally brought to the 2006 convention:

Bring it on down to the picnic on Sunday sir. And sorry to hear about your idiot land lord.

It took a virtual village of idiot to pull this "seven alarm fire" off successfully.

1st) At 12:30 PM, my landlord called 911 and reported an out of control grass fire at his three warehouse building complex.

2nd) The Loudon County Volunteer Fire Dept. (exactly two miles away) responded as soon as everybody got back to the Station from lunch (about 15 minutes later).

3rd) My landlord, having a set of keys to my building, entered the building and used my 50' water hose right next to the bay doors to begin fighting the fire on the back side of the building.

4th) By the time the Fire Dept. (accompanied by two Sheriffs patrol cars) arrived on the scene, they couldn't find the fire or see any smoke. The landlord was still watering down the back side of the building and expected them to come around the building and at least thank him for doing their job .... but instead, they left and went back to the Station without ever talking to anybody.

5th) My landlord, thinking that the fire was completely out, went back to his house on the other side of town to have lunch with his wife.

6th) The fire re-kindled itself almost immediately after he left. People who could see the back of the build from the interstate highway started calling 911 to report "smoke coming from the back side eve of a warehouse just off the Interstate.

7th) The County 911 Operator received 38 "Emergency 911" calls about smoke coming from the back of a building off the Interstate over a 45 minute period (after 1 PM) .... and she told EACH ONE of the people who called in to report the fire that "we've already sent someone out there".

According to the nearest neighbors (about 1/4 mile away), "the building exploded at about 2:00 PM .... and the Fire Dept. showed up about 10 minutes later". All three buildings (about 55,000 sq. ft.) were a total loss. I was uninsured and lost about 1/4 million bucks in the fire. I ended up settling with my landlord's insurance company for about half that amount two years later. Nationwide may be "on your side" .... but they sure as heck ain't on my side.
