: Time to push and finish the DET project...
Wolf_SER 03-24-2009, 11:44 PM Since nov 08 my car has not seen the streets. I miss it a lot. Now it's time to start pushing things around to make it happen.
My friend that is putting the engine on, has taken a LOT OF EXTRA time for doing so and he is getting into my nerve now as I've seen he just keeps getting more and more work and does not finish what he started.
He accidentally dropped the engine and that stopped the proyect. New radiator is in, and a few small pieces are missing but this is no reason to finish it.
I left aside the fancy stuff, I rather went throught the most functional stuff. Instead of buying cheap aluminium piping on ebay (I got tired of looking for someone to sell one) I will go for stainless stell custom made, the whole enchilada.
I will take pics DAILY of my car and put them in this thread. This will be my advance of the proyect and for you guys, to push me too to make it happen.
Pics later tonigh...
t bags 03-25-2009, 08:50 PM on what side did he drop the motor?that ebay gtir piping is pretty good

The front part where the radiator is. The radiator is lone gone but I was lucky enough to get a new one from Nissan Original for the 1.6 auto tranny. This new radiator has the double thick that the original it had so I am happy with it.
A fan is gone too, but I guess I have a spare. Some injector conectors were damaged too but those will be replaced.
Here are the pics from the day before yesterday.
Wolf_SER 03-28-2009, 08:38 AM Here's when we were changing the water pump, injectors and all of the related stuff between engines. 12/29/2008

I had waited long enough so I had to start pushing the proyect again and this is on what we are right now.
My car... I can't stand seeing it like this (full of dirty!) :(

Thinking on how clock the turbo properly.
He is Dario, he is the muffler man. He is the responsible for doing the stainless piping for my car.

Got any instructions or pics on how to do the right cloaking? We are on a certain point on which we separated the turbo in 2 to clean it because it had a lot of rust in on all parts you can imagine.

kaotekxe 05-28-2009, 10:49 PM why did you have to clock the turbo anyway? you could have just had the piping run through the bottom.

After thinking it a lot we decided to run it throught the top as this way by removing the foglights, battery and windshield water deposit there is plenty of room to play more and therefore, keep the engine bay a little bit cooler :D
