: Thank You
happynole 03-30-2009, 11:35 AM Now that I'm back home, and I hope everyone made it home safely, I'd like to give a bunch of "Thank You's" to people who helped us pull this off
Rodney - Thanks for helping plant this seed back in Chicago and all the parts chasin' we did M-T-W to get ready to go
Calum - Thanks for sharing the vision with me and having the guts to back it up with money when everyone thought we were crazy to even try
Louis - Thanks for taking my rambling thoughts and turning them into a logo. You also kept me on point evertime I tried to add or change stuff. Great job on design work and awesome shirts!!
Torry - Thanks for stepping up with NICO to make the $99 track day a reality. And good luck next year with Road America. You know I'll be there!
Chris, Stephen, and Jon - Thanks for all of the advertising space to get the word out on all the forums. I think this was the key to the turnout we had
Greg - Thanks for taking 1000 phone calls and questions and handling the online registration
Joe and Martin - Thanks for bailing me out at the track when Eric couldn't be there. I would have been lost without you guys :biggthump
RJ and Terrance - Thanks for getting me a car ready to be here at all. We blew up (great pics) my tranny Wednesday at about 4 pm and still made it to the convention (mostly) on time
Tiffy, Kimme, and Orietta - Thanks for taking care of the registration and administrative details at the hotel and picnic
And most of all I want to thank my beautiful wife Gloria - She puts up with my obsession with these cars and then was willing to hold everything together all weekend so I could go play with you guys.
happynole 03-30-2009, 12:01 PM Oh yeah, and thanks to you guys who actually showed up
Shawn B - I'll never forget the smile on your face when you jumped out of the car after your first track session
Team SR20 Deep - You guys are a blast to be around. How about an honorary SR20 Deep (South) member?
Rush and the G20 gang - I can't put it into words the fun we had (and that's probobly a good thing    )
The Tenn/Alabama gang - The South has risen again!!!
Russell 03-30-2009, 12:02 PM Thank YOU Happynole and everyone else that made this conventinon such a great time for everyone!!!!!!!
You guys/gals did a great job!!!
jerryeads 03-30-2009, 12:06 PM And thanks every so much to Joe and his family, and Rodney and Calum for the intestinal fortitude to dive in and make this happen. My first one, but from what I heard, this was a HUGE success. I'll even blame these guys for my deciding to keep my car :-) - I'd been thinking of selling it and starting a different project. The car is fun, and for all of you I got to meet, THESE PEOPLE ARE TOO MUCH FUN.
dfddfd2 03-30-2009, 08:37 PM Thank you all very much for your hospitality. You made me feel welcome, even though I wasn't driving a Nissan (yet). I had a great time, and we were very lucky to have a nice dry track all day Friday. Thanks again!
Cheers,
Dave
happynole 03-30-2009, 08:46 PM Dave - your car was the bomb!

Thankfully there was no literal interpretation of that! ;)
I forgot to mention what a great choice Cambria Suites was. Can't remember when I've stayed in a nicer motel. Great job Joe!
Regards,
Dave

Bowlcut 03-31-2009, 12:58 PM No Joe, thank YOU. Seriously best convention yet. Ive been to many of them since like 99...easily 5 i think...and this was probably the best ran one ever.
And top notch hotel, I dont think Ive ever stayed in a nicer hotel. And they only yelled at us once for being loud, that says a lot :D.
Being so close to the track was super nice. Every other convention its been like an hour drive almost.
Weather...what did you do? Sacrifice a chicken or something cause it was dang near perfect.
Picnic was fun, sad I missed 90% of it but what I was there for was great. The only negative of the event was there....the bugs, i should have known the south afterall. Maybe you should have pulled out another chicken to sacrifice ;)
I honestly dont think I heard one person say one negative thing all weekend. It was a super convention. HUGE turn out and I think thats mostly your doing Joe. Planning really sets it apart.
You really need to have everyone shake your hand and pat you on the back for this one. It really was one of the best yet if not the best. Heck Ive never seen everyone stay together like it did that says a lot. Sure standing around the hotel, but most years people go bar hopping with a few people and thats it. But no one wanted to leave the company of everyone.
bravo
