: Why were curbs invented?
blairellis 08-31-2002, 12:25 AM I hate curbs with a PASSION!. It fucked my car all up! My passenger side rim is all scratched to hell and the rim itself sits about an inch back from where it usually does....and rubs when i turn. IM SOOOO FUCKING PISSED! What do you guys think is fubared? i took a quick look at stuff but didnt see much cause it was and still is dark. Please help fast im supposed to move to VA tuesday and i need my car to drive out there with.
NismoSER 08-31-2002, 01:11 AM Sounds like you bent your control arm. Hopefully, the frame is ok. an inch doens't sound too harmful. Buy a new control arm from nissanparts.cc (probably will cost about 70 bucks) and bolt it right on like nothing ever happened! :D
sakerocket1 08-31-2002, 02:39 AM usualy the strut and spindle go fist, ask me how I know. Or do an archive search for My real bad colin mcrae impression.
ihateloops 08-31-2002, 03:06 AM curb problems, eh? i slammed into a real tall curb at about 25-30 due to a hydroplaning incident, and a whole lot of shit got messed up. left side: control arm, halfshaft, strut (bent), wheel got scratched to shit, when the wheel came back, it bent my left fender in too. right side: strut bent. yeah, i also hate curbs.
sakerocket1 08-31-2002, 05:08 AM I replaced shocks ,control arms, tie rods iner and outer, spindle, hub, axle, wheel bearing, sub frame, brake discs, ball joint, upper strut bearing, and wheel studs. My most expensive mistake.
SuperblkStalion 08-31-2002, 06:11 AM i hate that shit

PSSSHHHGOESMYSR20 08-31-2002, 06:36 AM Sounds like someone needs some depth perception. I believe curbs were invented to provide a route for run off, and for a place so Skaters can do 50 grinds, and Back Slides ;)

blairellis 09-01-2002, 01:25 PM psssshhh nope i got good depth perception...neither me nor my bro saw the thing until we were right on top of it. Im taking it to my uncles body shop and having him check the frame and everything underneath tuesday. Well see how much this mistake is gonna cost me.
SR20RACER 09-01-2002, 03:19 PM I don't think curbs are for run-off or anything like that. I think that curbs were invented by wheel and auto part companies to make more money. Can you say C-O-N spiracy? Maybe you can sue the people that installed the curbing. (kinda like the lady at McDonalds that sued for the coffee incident) :D
SERiousRacer 09-01-2002, 03:36 PM Ya I had my share of curb incidents.. one I hit while hydroplaning going around 40 twisted my control arm all the way around, shattered my brake disc, destroyed my rim, wheel sat 90 degrees from where it should have... it was an interesting sight, but hurt soooooo much.... /sigh but now she's all better =)
Serban 09-01-2002, 05:33 PM Why were you heading straight for the curb? Or was the curb placed in the middle of the street? :D
SE-Rican 09-01-2002, 05:47 PM Damn curbs. I hate it when they jump out in front of you.
;)
Sorry for the bad news bro. I have a friend who has a parts car that might have some of the parts you will need. I hope its not much damage!:(
