I asked before but the car became available again. It is a 91 SE with 30,000 original miles. Has the HICAS (spelling) roof and power items. Comes with Injen intake installed and a HS header not installed. Original Cali car only 18 months in NE. So no rust or accidents. Now the bad part AUTOMATIC bummer. He would sell me the car for 4500. Any input would be appreciated.

unless you are unable to drive a 5sp dont get an auto. i almost bought a convertable 240 but it was an auto (they all are). you will be much better off with a manual tranny. it makes the swap 10x easier and a 5sp is alot more fun to drive.
also it is better to by a car that is bone stock. i bought my 240 from a 45 year old college professor. it had high miles but the body and interior are prefect. now all it needs is a sr20det
good luck

If your budget is 5k for a car I would hold off for something you want. Go for a s13 without the hicas and stick.

You are opting for a car that will need more work for stuff that you want.

Why are you going to want to take out a tranny if it works?

I say find a good chassis with some hurt areas that match items you want to mod. Then you will be removing stuff that you would be canning anyway. :D

I would love to find one with a stick. Just happens this one is close by. And the mileage and condition are great. I might bid on it again.

Is HICAs more of a problem than its worth?

I have read that most HICAS owners disable the system. They all want to drift.

I cannot stress patience. You might pick up this car and find another one that will fit you better.

Don't settle.

stan bo is right. take your time get exactly what you want. if you settle for less than later on you will regret it.

I guess I will wait. Winter is coming so I might have a better opportunity in the next few months to find a 5-speed in nice shape.
