anyone know the specs of the pivot bolt that secures the alternator to the motor? mine fell out or broke and is causing me all kinds of problems today. the service dept at the nissan dealer near me is closed today so i can't get a replacement there. since i don't have the old one i can't go find one at a harware store that is the exact same. Would an autoparts store carry these things? Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm stuck at home with no transportation all weekend.
oh yeah, this is for a '98 200sx ser (if it makes any difference).

Try to find a bolt at least 6"-6 1/4" long in a 5/16"- 3/8" diameter, with nut. Probably closer to 5/16". This should work untill you can get the right one.
Mine has fallen out in the past. I couldn't figure out why my car was making such a racket and then I went trouble shooting and bam. Anyhow, I looked everywhere and the only place I could get one was from Nissan. It was a special order part, and the bolt is like $15. Only other way that I know of would be to contact someone who might have an extra laying around. I know for a fact Andreas Miko has at least 1.

In the autoparts store they usaly have a rack of all type of universal parts. they come in red packages an say help on the top get the pckage with three altonator bolts and the long one will fit all you need is a nut wich are usaly right around were you found the bols.
Maybe it's just where I live, but no where around me carried anything quite long enough.
