Hopefully my overheating didn't cause any major engine damage. I was able to use Nate's radiator after finding a large crack in the one that was on my car. Test drove the car down to WM but oddly my temp got up to 207 and stayed there. Just realized I didn't purge the air over by the thermostat like I did on the heater side and hopefully that's that problem. Other problem which I pray is just a temporary effect of the purge miss is a ticking I'm hearing that is engine speed related. I'm almost certain it's the water pump which I am dredding replacing. I did that repair once a long time ago and it was painful. Ah well . . .
Thanks again J for coming out to get me some water and following me for the last 1/2 mile home.

Also on my short test drive, when the temp got past 200, I turned my heater on to see if I could reduce the water temp but no warm air came through initially. When it did get warm it was not a consistant heat. It would warm up then cool down. To top it all, my water temp did not drop.
Anybody got a spare water pump just in case? Checkers is out as far as I can tell online.

np on the help, hmm the ticking is definitely not a good thing, but if you think it's the water pump then that's good. best bet would be to pop the hood and rev the throttle body from the pass. side while listening to the water pump. i would just order an oem one from greg vogel/gspec, i wouldn't trust the crap from checker. water pump change isn't too bad, the hardest part for me was realigning the motor mounts, I loosened 3 of them and lifted the engine up via the lower oil pan so that the water pump had real easy access. not sure what the deal is with your heater, ask in the general forum about it
