: Worth bringing my SE-R to the island?

Aloha all,

I'm contemplating moving to the island in the next year or two and was wondering if it'd be worth bringing my modified SE-R to the island. Is there any where to drive it? Any autox events? I really like this car, but if there's no where to drive it, it's probably not worth the 1200 or so to ship it over.

Thanks!

depends on what island you moving to.... we dont have a track on oahu anymore and the only thing we got going on is SCCA at the stadium... maui, kauai, and the big island have 1/4mile tracks and thats it. underground scene is so so... not like what it used to be.

on the plus side... all of the SE-R drivers that i met here are awsome and always wanna help each other out! some peeps are trying to revive the SE-R club as well....

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I'd be moving to Oahu and was just reading up on the track that closed down a few years back. I don't mind SCCA and would probably get involved in it, bummer no tracks though (I'm in Nor cal, so I've been to Thunderhill, Laguna Seca and Sears Point), but I haven't been tracking much lately anyway.

How many SE-R's (new or old) are on Oahu? I go pretty regularly (about every 2 or so months) and haven't seen but maybe one B13 SE-R while I've been there.

The ole' B13 isn't much of a 1/4 mile car (at least mine) but I do alright on the autox.

Cheers.

If you plan on staying in Hawaii for more than a few years, bring it. Sure there is no track at the moment. If you are so inclined, a rally-x is scheduled at the future home of the local motorsports park. I would love to take my SE-R out there but cannot bring myself to getting it roughed up by flying coral gravel.

The number or SE-Rs out here is declining like elsewhere. Not sure what the numbers are, but if you like to be somewhat unique in the ride you drive, Hawaii would be a good place.

I probably plan to retire there (decades away) and while the 3/93 build date SE-R isn't pretty (really needs a paint job and some dent removal)...as Han Solo said,"She may not look like but she's got it where it counts, kid."

Thanks for the input. Looking into a ltw fly, new clutch, replacing the VLSD with a lower mileage one (because I can't afford the Nismo one).
