question about timing.....while pointing the timing light at the pulley its at 10 btdc..(91 1.6) ...and when i accelerate the engine i cant see the marks..is that supposed to happen?..sorry for my ignorance, but my car is running crappy, so i checked my timing and i wasnt sure if its supposed to be like that...thanks...

Why would you accelerate your engine? You're supposed to check and set timing with the engine at idle. I'm not 100% sure but I'm assuming if you accelerate the engine, it is rotating too fast for the timing lights to see the marks.

Actually it is because the ECU is advancing the timing when you rev up the engine. Timing lights are damn fast.
