i recently bought a 1992 SE-R.
its going very well. this is my third Sentra. 1st was a 98 GXE, then a 2001 SE (which was later repoed :( ), and now i got me a sturdy 92 SE-R, white, with sunroof and i love my SR20. getting to lay the smack down on them whacky honDUHs is great! lmao.

ok, well, one month after taking ownership of my little car, the front brakes went out, so i replaced the rotors, calibers, and pads. that was quite expensive!!

and now the rear needs its brakes replaced and i rememberd reading about a Altima rear-disk-brake swap something on the net, but months later, i cant find the article.

can someone tell me if this is possible?
im assuming it is.
also, how inexpensive is it? i have assessibility to a shop and plenty of tools to do this with, i just need to know if i should spring for brand new units or can i safely rely on some nicely salvaged Altima brakes or maybe even from another SE-R/G20/NX2000/etc etc??

BTW: im broke as a joke right now, so im lookin for the cheapest alternative to buying brand new brakes right now.

In an article on se-r.net, kojima uses the MC from an altima and rear discs from a Maxima. I think www.brakeco.com is one of the places to get pretty cheap rotors from.

Don't do the swap for performance reasons as the stock brakes are perfectly adequate for the light load imposed upon them.
