: Oil pressure low and JWT Specs
TurboJesus 09-02-2002, 06:21 PM Does anyone have any specs on the JWT ECU.... 3 bar Program,550 msd injectors, with the Corba MAF. I need specs on timing, fuel specs , air\fuel , Timing Curve, Fuel pressure. Also I think I am having Oil Pressure problems..... Do you think I need new lifters? Oil light is coming on at idle. Everything else is new...oil pump water pump. The only thing I didnt change were the lifters. any Ideas on the low oil Press?
TurboJesus 09-02-2002, 08:24 PM anyone??? Come on now guys I am about to gave up on my car
CowboyDren 09-02-2002, 09:19 PM I don't know anything about your oil pressure problem, but you're not going to get information on the timing and fuel maps on a JWT ECU. Did you ever consider why it costs $600 for a JWT ECU? Perhaps (!!!) it's that they put a lot of R&D (human labor, the most expensive cost to factor) into making those maps. Even if I had that information, out of respect for JWT, I would not distribute it, not to mention the chance that it's probably illegal.
B13DET 09-03-2002, 12:10 AM If the pump is new then i would try changing the oil presure sending unit to make sure that is not bad first.
TurboJesus 09-03-2002, 04:54 AM Well the reason I am asking becasue ever since I went with the Corba MAF and 550 MSD injectors my car has been running like shit. My oil light been coming on ever since the upgrade and motor hasnt been running right since. Well now I spend 3,000 on the motor and still doing the same thing before I blew my old motor. I am not trying to blow this one up. Everything is almost new on this motor the only thing is not new is the lifters in the head, springs, and retainers. I guess I should send my ECU back in to make sure they program it right. What do you guys think? I will see if the oil sending unit is bad. Keep you updated..... Going tO SHOOT THIS CAR !!!
CowboyDren 09-03-2002, 07:49 PM Are you saying that you do have a JWT ECU but didn't spend a few extra dollars to get it reprogrammed after all of those other mods? Duh. You're running injectors that are practically twice the size of stock and there's no way your ECU knows what's going on with that MAF sensor. You have two options; have JWT reprogram your ECU (very good) or get an S-AFC or other fuel computer (just as good, not as safe), or both (expensive, but hella-cool).
TurboJesus 09-03-2002, 09:43 PM dude I spend the extra money... Well it comes to find out that too much fuel is going into the motor. So I need to find out my... That is how my oil motor blew. The fuel make the oil not do its job. Well At least I know what the problem is.
TurboJesus 09-04-2002, 11:12 PM ok guys still having a fuel problem....... FPR is at 43 psi with the line off, Timing is at 15, TPS is on specs. Still car is running rich and oil light is coming on? Oil light is coming on because fuel getting into the oil. I changed the oil four times in the pass two days. Anyone any ideas on it what it is...oil presure sending unit is good.
TurboJesus 09-05-2002, 03:36 AM has anyone had this problem.. after I send my ECU to JWT for the 50 msd injectors and Corba maf my car has been running like shit. There is way too much fuel going to the motor. Can someone help me out? What about the Coolant sensor or the distributor? I found this tread http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17102&perpage=20&highlight=bar%20program&pagenumber=1
my car is doing the same thing but at full thottle after like 5,500 rpms its not smooth at the power band.
CharlieH98 09-05-2002, 07:17 AM If there's fuel in the oil, then I would replace the injector seals. Fuel is leaking past them and into the engine. Explains the running rich syndrome as well.
Cheers,
Charlie :)
art_from_ct 09-05-2002, 08:22 AM Assuming by your name, your car is turbo. When Marksr20 and I turboed his De, we had similar problems. We kept fouling up the plugs, the car was running super rich, wouldn't idle right....
The problem for us was the IC piping came apart under the bumper and the ECU was not getting any reading from the MAF and also there was a huge vacuum leak. This may not be it but it's something that has caused us problems before..
Like Charlie said please describe your running rich condition a little more.
TurboJesus 09-05-2002, 11:54 AM what does the injector seals look like?
Big John 09-05-2002, 01:10 PM I would check all of the wiring to the MAF, ensure there are good soldered contacts between the wires and that the wires are connected in proper sequence. The top mount injectors only have a seal between the rail and the injector, there is no seal at the bottom like the side feeds, if it were leaking, then fuel would be going outside of the rail. Check the MAF, also, do you have an oil pressure gauge? I wouldn't consider having a high HP turbo car without it. If everything else seems inorder (i.e vacuum leaks, intercooler pipe leaks, MAF wiring) then I would check your spark. Go through the rotor, cap, wires, ect. these things may solve the rough running issues, but will probably not solve the oil light. Get a gauge and know where its at for sure.
