I have a 98 200sx and I think something is up with my ecu again because the fans dont kick on when it starts to over heat. If I pull the plug from the sensor the fans will come on. I saw one thread about how to do it by tappin into the ecu wires. Can I just run power to a switch, then from the switch run the power to the fans positive wire and just tap into there?

I was thinking of using my A/C button... I removed my A/C so nothing is hooked up to the compressor wire and when I turn on the A/C nothing happends, however typically when you turn on the A/C both fans come on... So, now i just need to figure out how to fool the switch thinking A/C compressor is there.. im not sure If i just need a jumper at the end of the cable or what....

that would actually be a good idea because I dont have A/C either......but the fans have a decent size gauge wire so I dont *** if it would be good to hook it up to that switch...ill have to look at the switch n see.
I was going to just take fans plugs from another harness and have the postive going to the battery then run the ground inside the car to a switch.

All you need to do is ground the fan signal line at the ecu. I believe it's pin 9 or 10 on a B13. Doing it this way allows you to use the AC switch, since it's a low current line.

get a coolant temperature switch if you unplug it and the fan comes on. That means everything is working except the sensor is not activating your fan.

Not the best way, but it was like this when I got it and I plan on cleaning it up, Ran off the battery to a toggle with a relay to the fans

Oh by the way if u don't plan to fix it right and decide to do a toggle switch. Always put the switch on the ground side.
