Howdy-
I'm putting some KYB AGX shocks on my classic soon and I was wondering if there's anything else I should plan on replacing while I'm taking the suspension apart. Keep in mind that I am running stock class for autocross. So far I've heard:
1) dust boots
2) tower seal
Anyone think of anything else? Thanks. - Jamie

you also might want to look into getting shigspeed pillow mounts and the koni bumpstops. make sure you do the silicon duck tape trick as well.
Ahh, he's getting a set of AGX struts, not coil-overs. :p
Jamie, there are some good threads about this, even a few recent ones, for the searching.
I have some notes on my site, too:

Try these links. I ordered just about every parts from Courtesy. When I looked at the total bill, I *** "sheeeeesssshhh".

I was talking to someone and they told me that it is a mus to go with the adjustables, I told him I was about to order the GR-2's and he was completley against it. He said that it messed up his trans. Never heard of it messing up you trans when you lower your car. He said something like the wheels must be able to travel up and down. Is this true, is it worth spending the extra on the adjustables in the long rum?
thanks

There are plenty of B13 owners on this site who have lowered their cars, yet their transmissions are completely fine. He's probably against it because the adjustables will make him some more money.
Plus, GR-2's aren't really going to lower your car. The springs lower the car, not the struts.

I have GR-2s on Tokico springs(previously H&Rs), and they feel great.. only worried that it won't last very long.. are AGX's much longer lasting, or the same?
um... that trans comment makes absolutely no sense, why would it cause the wheel not to travel up/down??

If your car is lowerd, it can increase wheel hop if done incorrectly, maybe thats what he's talking about.
I heard AGX's are better, but GR-2's are fine, and cheap.
I always read about replacing thrust bearings in front when doing suspension. That is reccomended, but not necessary.
