yes it is possible......But hard to find ppl doing so.....perhaps someone with a blown vvl n gave up that engine and it's ECU, u can use it to swap onto a SR20DE's engine. I believe a piggyback ECU controller is needed to complete the job.

I am personally using SR18DE engine with SR20DET head and its turbo. I got my stock ECU hooked up with Greddy Emanage to fine tune everything.

SR engines can be mated if done correctly :) No doubts about it

1 if you know anything about Honda engines the vetec is a slave cam thats all..... all SRmotors do not have a slave cam you dont have to wait for the power to kick in the power is there all the time. i just smoooooked a civc tonight an from 2500 till 6000 all i saw was his headlites he had noooo time for his vetec to kick in an my se-r has minimal work for now. and its not the first time and not the last time ill kill a honda.... and i wouldnt try to build a Frankinstein motor like hondas JUST BOOST IT.............. all the luck

comon, VTEC are naturally build for street+performance use.....it's isnt that great.....

Boosting is the way to go, I once drove a swapped SR20VE in a friend's Maxima with Tiptronic gearbox, IT SUCKS ! Even a simple Mitsubishi 4G92 single cam tuned, can beat the shit outta SR20VE stock.....

Thats y I dint take any SR16VE or SR20VE, too weak and too much money involved!

When I got my SR18DE it made about 105w/hp@6800rpm and 140nm/wt@4500rpm. Once I bolted on my turbo boosting 0.6bar, it made 170w/hp@6800rpm and 220nm/wt@4000rpm !

Vtec stocks only kicks in 6000rpm-9000rpm, NOT A CHANCE ! haha

The sr20ve is a great engine..it isnt for everyone (obviously) but before you go bashing it you should check the numbers on them...... the '01 and up puts out 204hp and the 97-01 put out 187hp and can be easily boosted up to well over 200 hp for fairly cheap............so please do a little research before bashing the vvl

sorry, I spoke based on my own preference...I apologize :)

but frankly, its pretty pointless to boost a VVL engine.....why do u need VVL when u are boosting ? It doesnt improve performance nor fuel saving having a VE-T. Maybe ppl would have thought they have VVL technology plus turbo is something amusing, BUT you dont really need valve lifting technology if u go for max power turbo charging a motor

Actually it would save some fuel mileage as opposed to a turbo motor with race cams because you would be running the low profile cams till you needed the power and the boosted ve would actually be a big improvement because of the increased head flow in the ve so its not only the vvl it the design

well, a fine-tuned turbo engine actually is petrol saving too. but i should say VE engines are great innovations for street/performance use. but for my experience driving a VE, it doesnt satisfies my choice of power. maybe i should drive some hardcore modified VE on of these days.....which i yet to see one...hehe

practically and piggy-bank-friendly, I still prefer DET or a build-up DE-T :)
