hey calum or anyone who's knowledgeable explain how the k-value in the ve bins was derived?

if the going from 259cc to 333cc injectors with de maf (using 31206 as the stock k-value number, is that correct also?) would the calculation be

24271 = (259cc / 333cc) x 31206?

also as i was searching i found that the ve injector latency is .70ms and the bins have .60ms. is there a reason for this also?

just asking questions trying to learn and understand. thanks guys.

my personal VE bin uses a k value higher than the calculated # to acheve a good 14.7 afr across most of the rev/load scale (mind you this is with the o2 sensor disabled). i also use .70 lag time for the inj as it seems to have cleaned up my idle over the .60. now my 20ve also is using a n60 maf with N1 cams so that would also make it different then the test car calum used. the k value i have noticed will be different on most cars some close some alot more so due to slight differences in the setup.

You are calculating the new K value correctly, but this is just a starting point. Setups differ. I am using a K of 28873 for my SR20VE with SR16 cams, Fuji, and 2.5" exhaust. This value gives me the AFR that I am seeking at idle and through the light load parts of the fuel map. I honed in on this value through empirical testing on the road. My tunes also use .60 latency, I've never adjusted this parameter -- it's just the way that the bin came from Calum.
