I haven't even heard of a 350Z arriving around here yet. Kansas is always last on the list. ;)

Just saw a silver one today in Cary. I don't like it in silver. Black should look sweet.

Yeah I saw one the other day at my dealer. It was up on the rack, so maybe they were installing a dealer option or prepping it for the owner? It was Silver. But I got a good look underneath the car, and that exhaust and those suspension pieces look suhweet. I talked to two of the parts guys and they said that 4 out of 6 that they were getting this year were sold, which means there are still 2 that haven't been bought yet!

Me.....want....one....

I think the car is ok. I still don't believe that it didn't come with turbo. Did anyone hear anything about the Next Z going turbo anytime soon?

I've never seen one before in person but to be honest I don't love the way it looks in the pictures I've seen, maybe it will grow on me if I see it in person.... It's conforting to know that the mechanics are taking good care of these cars and making sure they get broken in:rolleyes:

My brother lived and went to school in Kansas for 2 years (Salina), and his theory on what you said is this...

Kansas is in the CENTER of the country. If you see a hurricane, its always starting w/ the outter skirts of it - the beginning of the wrath - then a little furthur in - the fury - and then the eye - where nothing happens.

Kansas is kinda like the center... all the fads start out w/ NY, go down the coast to Atlanta, Miami, Houston, LA, Seattle, and then it works its way inward w/ the rest of the country... and guess who's the last to get ANYTHING...? You guessed it: KANSAS!!! :D

First one I saw was last thursday at a local tint shop, it was Burgundy, ick, let me tell you that color on the Z if fugly.

I saw another one tonight in that Electric Blue, God DAYM, its sweeeeet. In person, and in Blue, the 350Z is VERY impressive.

Only thing though.... If you dont get the track package, those brakes look VERY puny in those wheels. They are big Enough, but still look very very puny.

Matt- Just out of curiosity, do you ever see a '68 Porsche 912 driving around in Cary? It was blue when I owned it but might have been repainted since. I used to live in Cary and sold the car right before I left to move to Maine. I sold it to a guy I met drinking beer the the Upper Deck.

The whole idea was to make the car cheap enough so it well sell. If they add turbo it will be a lot more expensive. I don't think the minority enthusiast market that would buy a turbo Z can justify the production costs for Nissan.

i doubt that they will add a turbo it will cost to much. and we all know what happend last time the z car gain a turbo 44,000 new ouch!!!! i buy german for that kind of money. i heard a rumor that stealing or sorry $tillen is produceing a turbo kit for the vq motors. and it will be back by factory warrantie. i kind of like that idea if you want turbo you install it. i have no doubts that the motor can take boost.and has a factory warrantie i love it now all they have to do is bring a sr20 power car over here im not impressed with the new ser? but thats okay i could live with the 350z.

I was talking on a Nissan Tech. the other day at the parts store and he said Nismo is working on a twin turbo it for it and should be ready soon. This was about a little under a month ago. I also heard rumors of Nissan putting out a supercharge Z soon , and of course the convertable next year.

we tend to use the word "race" very loosely these days, don't we?

Old News. They have had one for the vq30de and now the vq35de for quite some time. I think the 30de version has been out since '00. The 35de version has been out since early '02. Oh, those are Maxima engines for those of you who don't know.

Nope haven't seen it. I don't live in Cary, I just happened to be there. And since there's now over 100,000 people just in Cary, I see a lot of cars when I drive through...

the next gt-r is gonna use the VQ motor, correct? so wouldn't it make sense to that they'll slap a snail on it?

I saw a pearl white one in St. Louis friday, at a used car lot, no less (it seemed to be some sort of premium used car lot, they had mostly fairly new BMW, porsche, etc). The salesman said they paid a big premium to get one of the first ones in the area, so I imagine they plan to pass that markup on to some rich sap who needs to be the first on his block with a 350z . It didn't look great in old-man white, but I can imagine how good it would look in black or dark grey. It was the luxo-model with the 17"s, and the wheels and brakes looked *tiny* in those huge wheel arches the car has. What struck me was how big the car looked, I was expecting something visually smaller. I still want one though, but maybe I'd have to keep the SE-R for a track car (just daydreaming at this point, I can't afford a new car until I get out of school anyway - hopefully I can find a nice used Track model by then ;)).
