Now that I'm thinking about it again. Where do you go about finding the trans with the 4.437 final drive that fits into the 91-94 SE-R (should be the same as the NX2000 as well)? Also, what LSD works well with that?

Lookin for ways to get faster.:biggthump

Why not just buy the gear set? I have them for $375.

Greg can get you a Nismo diff to go along with the final drive.

Has anyone ever decided that the new gear made them universally faster? I know Greg used it in his NX. It seems to me that it might help on some tracks and hurt on others.

No more Nismo difs, though I did just locate a NOS Nismo dif for the non-LSD tranny.

I would love to get one of these, but I just can't bring myself to tear down a perfectly good transmission to install it.

It works for me. I don't know what track it would hurt on.

I never did any direct back-to-back comparisons. But, what it did for me what to help a bit on the to-the-ground torque for coming out of the corners. The slowest track I used it on was Lime Rock, and the fastest was Road Atlanta.

I would recommend it, but only from anecdotal experience. - GA

What about IT fest 07? I know it's not a direct back to back since you lost the good diff too.

Hmmm, good point, I'd forgotten about that. I'd have to go through the data to find out why, but my fastest laps were actually on the second day with the stock used transaxle. But, I suspect that had more to do with further familiarity with the track, and motivation <grin>...

I'll review the data, see what it tells me. - GA

On edit: Now that you've pointed this out, I recall ARRC '07 (Road Atlanta) was actually done with a factory-new transaxle, which means new viscous diff. I should compare that data to the ARRC '06 and see what pops out...
