I have a set of gtir pistons and rods...and im trying to get the lowest compression possible on my de block so i can fit more space of fun with my turbo:D ...if i put my gtir pistons and rods into my de block will my compression be 8:5:1 or will it remain at 9:5:1?....

You have to use the gti-r crank with the gti-r rods.

get some DE-T pistons

u will need gtir crank if u use the gtir rods because the de bearings are 17mm and the gtir bearings are 19mm. u can keep those pistons but source some rods from the bluebird or avenir motors. also ur compression will drop to 8:5:1 with any stock det pistons in ur de.

It sounds like your about to spend way more than you need to Curlz to make your set up but hey thats the only way to learn right by wasting money. Did you even make a build list yet? Sorcing parts= waste of time unless you have hookups....and in Ma there are no hookups.

all you need is de-t pistons.

yeah i have already made a build list...i mean i have an extra motor with gtir pistons and rods with a blubird det head...i can use my stock pistons for turbo,, 9:5:1 isnt that bad but who likes having a limit

why not keep the 9.5:1 and just have more power?

i like my gti-r engine MUCH better now that it has more compression, better for everyday driving especially with lightweight flywheel and solid clutch it doesnt stall out as easy

im going to try to make my decision...might stay with the 9:5:1 like it is goin to be a daily driver

as long as the engine runs strong and has good compression i got by the "if it aint broke dont fix it" law

get a turbo kit and just tune the car ON A DYNO with a calum ecu.
